Wednesday, 10 April 2019: One of India’s prominent designers Sabyasachi Mukherjee, recently completed 20th years in the fashion. He showcased new exclusive collection, titled Kashgaar Baazar, in collaboration with French fashion designer Christian Louboutin, at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.

Also, he presented an exclusive collection of handbags and shoes from the French label.

Drawing inspiration from my first design collection – Kashgaar Bazaar- this collaboration explores the conflict between cultures, colours, textiles and crafts. Under the overarching theme of rustic baroque, the entire collection is a patchwork of different textile influences derived from the Silk Route. Strung together in an organic manner with beads, sequins, tinsel and silk thread. With a focus on resort and glamping, acid-burnt textiles, mirror-work, phulkari, zardosi, and inspirational techniques and motifs from Central Asian carpets constitute the foundation of the Christian Louboutin x Sabyasachi collaboration capsule, that has a potent tribal yet cosmopolitan energy. The designer took to Instagram to announce the collaboration. “Under the overarching theme of rustic baroque, the entire collection is a patchwork of different textile influences derived from the Silk Route.
