Who doesn’t like to laugh? And if that humor has awe-inspiring action and a well-written plot to go with it- P.E.R.F.E.C.T.I.O.N.
So here we are with 5 anime who have a healthy dose of both!

ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM

If you haven’t seen this one, trust me, you are missing out a lot! This anime has two seasons which aired in 2015 and 2016. Though you might find it hard to start given its different setting, once you do, you won’t be able to stop. It’s just that interesting! In the action-comedy genre, it’s one of the rare gems. It has an intriguing plot with well fleshed characters (none of whom are actually what they seem to be). Add to that, the beautiful soundtrack, this anime is one of the most inspiring ones I have ever seen.

MY HERO ACADEMIA

This is a more popular one with a fairly common storyline. But never judge a book by its cover! The way of handling the plot elements and the layered characters is praise-worthy. The animation is well done too and the music pleasing yet exhilarating. The serious action scenes and the comic elements throughout the series are well-balanced. Though it gets darker as the story progresses, it never gets too heavy. The anime was released in 2016 and is currently in its 4th season.

THE DEVIL IS A PART TIMER

Yes, you read it right- it’s an anime where the devil has a job and he is a part-timer! This short 12 episode anime is a must-watch if you want to laugh a lot and still watch something satisfying. Honestly, I have watched and re-watched this one more than a few times already and there is not one boring moment- even when I know what’s next. The plot is pretty good, the characters well-written and the music is good too.

ONE PUNCH MAN

Okay, I think anyone who watches anime has seen this one but hey, you can always re-watch! This anime is a parody, so yes, lots of laughs and since it parodies superhero shows, there is plenty of action. But what I like the most about this anime is that despite essentially being a spoof, they didn’t neglect the plot. There are some small hidden moments with great lessons as you watch with bated breath where the fight will lead to.

BLUE EXORCIST

So this one is more on the action side and it has plenty of angst but it has its hilarious moments too. Especially when the lead Rin is on screen, it’s pretty entertaining. He is has a strong resolve and good heart but he is not really smart and oh- he is the son of Satan and wants to be an exorcist. Quite interesting right? The only thing I didn’t like about the anime is how it deviates from the original manga for the last 7 episodes. Though it is not that bad, it really ruined it for me because the changed finale didn’t really impress me. The second season, in comparison, is much better and funnier. A must-watch both for the action elements and cool music.
