As a second bilateral summit between Washington and Pyongyang appeared only a few weeks away, the United States special representative on North Korea policy, Stephen Biegun on Thursday called on the communist nation to disclose all of its nuclear and missile programs.
Biegun stated that the full declaration will be needed to acknowledge complete denuclearisation of the south Asian nation, reported Yonhap.
During a speech at Stanford University, referring to weapons of mass destruction, the Special Representative said, “Before the process of denuclearization can be final, we must have a complete understanding of the full extent of theNorth Korean WMD and missile programs through a comprehensive declaration.”
Without divulging anything consequential, Biegun stated that Washington has “contingencies” prepared in case negotiations fail.
Pyongyang has been unwilling to disclose any such information, claiming that this will give the US a list of targets to destroy. Biegun, however, clarified that Washington is adamant about verifying denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.
Assuring North Korea that the US has no interest in regime change, Biegun asserted, “We’re not going to invade North Korea.”
“We must reach agreement on expert access and monitoring mechanisms of key sites to international standards, and ultimately ensure the removal or destruction of stockpiles of fissile material, weapons, missiles, launchers and other weapons of mass destruction,” the envoy said.
He further acknowledged that there is a difference in the interpretation of “denuclearisation” for the two nations.
Pakistan in war mongering syndrome after abrogation of article 370
BJP led NDA government has abrogated the special status to Jammu and Kashmir by repealing the 70-year-old article 370 and 35 A.
Imran Khan government in Pakistan and its media are so badly frustrated that they have increased the arms and ammunitions and its forces on the Ladakh and Indo Pakistan border across LOC. Its foreign and internal security ministers Shah Mohammed Qureshi and Fawad Chowdhary have issued highly irresponsible statements in the Pakistan General Assembly.
They spoke about staging a war against India as well as issued a direct threat of nuclear attack against India. In an interview to Pakistani news channels and in a debate in parliament Pakistan, the foreign minister said that the coming 3 months are quite critical and challenging for Pakistan. He even said that there is the possibility of war with India at the end of the year.
Even Pakistan Prime minister Imran Khan has threatened of a befitting reply to India. The Pak’s interior security minister and PM Imran Khan’s close confidante Fawad Chowdhary in his hard-hitting address in Pak General Assembly has openly challenged the Indian government saying that each and every Pakistani would sacrifice his or her life for Kashmir. They would continue their relentless fight for securing Kashmir come what may. Both the ministers while issuing an open threat to India have even gone to the extent of stating that the Nuclear arsenals are not kept in Pakistan for mere exhibition but would be used against India.
The television news channels of Pakistan are disseminating poisonous tirade against India. They are twisting the facts to the core. They are spreading complete lies to provoke its populace against India. This is especially after the abrogation of article 370 from Kashmir. This is despite knowing very well that its an internal affair and prerogative of the government to take any action that is best for the country.
Spreading misinformation campaign against India has become the order of the day for the Pakistani news channels and print media. This is in conjunction with the Pak PM Imran Khan and his ministers issuing irresponsible provocative statements against India. They want to take every possible advantage of the Kashmir situation. This is especially after the historic decision of the Indian government of abrogating the special status related article 370 and 35 A from the strife-torn Kashmir. Frustrated Pakistan PM Imran Khan has not even desisted himself against using derogatory remarks against India and meddling in its internal affairs. He tweeted three days ago: The curfew, crackdown and the impending genocide of Kashmiris in IOK are unfolding exactly acc to RSS ideology inspired by Nazi ideology. An attempt is being made to change the demography of Kashmir.
Pakistan PM Imran Khan often forgets that it is his government and the ISI which has been openly aiding and abetting terrorists. They aid the perpetration of killings and genocide in Kashmir. They have already violated ceasefire agreements about 2000 times. It should first put its own house in order instead of creating disturbances and destabilization in Kashmir and other parts of India. Pakistan as a country is in economic shambles with a begging bowl in its hand. Pakistan has been reprimanded by the USA a number of times. Pakistan has also been completely isolated in the international sphere.
Warmongering against India by Pak PM and his ministers is nothing but an act of frustration. An economically bankrupt country like Pakistan would be fully destroyed and finished if it really goes for a war against India. These “Geedad Bhapkies” coward threats are nothing but frustration against India.
Responding to Pakistan’s threat and the assembly of extra force and arms and ammunition at the LOC, Indian Army chief Vipin Rawat warned Pakistan of strongest possible retaliatory action if need be. He added that India is fully prepared for any eventuality.
Meanwhile, the Indian film industry and the music companies in India have strongly condemned Indian singer Mikka’s participation in a ceremonial function in Pakistan and for performing there. Mikka has been banned by them and would not be given the opportunity to record his songs by these music companies in Bollywood.
Modi with Bear Grylls in Man Vs Wild on Discovery Channel
Today is the world premiere of the popular Man Vs Wild programme in Discovery channel at 9.00 PM with its globally popular host Bear Grylls and prime minister Narendra Modi.
They are to appear on television sets of 180 countries of the world in a documentary on wildlife encounter in Jim Corbet National Park’s dense jungles and river valley. They are gossiping, having an encounter with wildlife, drinking tea inside the jungles, sitting beside the riverbank and also travelling in a hand made canopy boat along with Bear Grylls against the high-velocity river tides.
The newspapers of the country are full of full-page expensive advertisements from Discovery channel titled Discovery channel’s UNMISSABLE ADVENTURE IN THE LAP OF NATURE AT 9.00 PM TONIGHT/World Premier with prime minister Narendra Modi and Bear Grylls. They are seen in hunting attire talking to each other on the river bank holding a tea Thermax together. This episode to be telecast today in over 180 countries of the world is being chiefly co-sponsored by Indian Oil and Havel.
This is significant and unique because it’s for the very first time that any Indian prime minister would be participating in a documentary of Discovery channel with shooting done at Jim Corbet National Park in Uttarakhand. The shooting of this episode was executed on the day of the Pulwama tragedy in Kashmir, the most ill-fated day which claimed the toll of more than forty troopers of Indian Army. The opposition leaders had created controversies and had blamed the prime minister Narendra Modi for being busy in shooting when our jawans died in the fidayeen attack in Pulwama Kashmir. The charge strongly opposed by the ruling BJP as false and concocted.
According to sources the prime minister was deeply concerned and was in regular contact of the authorities concerned to guide them of the possible action. The shooting took place in the morning and was called off as soon as the information was received about the tragedy. In the promos and advertisement released prior to the telecast, the prime minister was seen in his hunting jacket greeting the Man Vs Wild host Bob Grylls. The PM had said ‘Welcome to India’ and was then walking in the green dense jungles of Jim Corbet Wildlife park, sailing on a canopy boat and also interacting with Grylls on Wildlife conservation etc.
In the past United States’ President Barak Obama and several other prime ministers of different countries had appeared in Bear Grylls wildlife episodes. However, Narendra Modi would be the first and only Indian PM to appear in this programme of Discovery Channel.
So stay tuned at 9.00 PM on Discovery Channel to watch Modi in Man Vs Wild doing several feats as a commoner in his hunting attire.
Law firm proprietor Murali Lal Thapliyal contests as MP from Brampton West, Canada
A proud Uttarakhandi settled in Canada since 2003 owner of a prestigious law firm Murali Lal Thapliyal is contesting as an MP from Conservative party in the federal elections being held in the month of October, belonging to a village in Garhwal Uttarakhand. A leading advocate and proprietor of Thapliyal and Rai Law Firm in Brampton West Canada Muralilal Thapliyal left his village for Mumbai in search of a job at the age of seventeen. He worked as a farmer in his village and completed his higher secondary education in his native place.
Reaching Mumbai he got a job in Mahindra and Mahindra Company where he worked for 12 ling years and also completed his graduation, BA LLB, LLM, MA and thereafter practiced for 7 years in Mumbai High Court. This is indeed a rag to riches story by the dint of hard work, perseverance, and commitment of a boy from a village reaching a dream city Mumbai and thereafter carving a niche for himself with a great amount of dedication and hard work with integrity.
In an interview to a Hindi channel of Canada Conservative candidate, Murali Lal Thapliyal said that I am from a peasants family primarily. After serving in Mumbai High Court for 9 long years, I was acquainted by my friends in Canada and through the news about this beautiful country Canada, the prospects there and great career opportunities. I was made aware of this dream city where everyone could prosper and make ways ahead.
Therefore highly enthused I left India with my wife and two kids and finally came to Canada in 2003 considering myself too lucky and fortunate.
A dedicated lawyer and a committed socialite having confronted lots of challenges in his life full of struggle Murari Lal’s believes in honesty, reliability, integrity and hard work which is also his tag line. He reiterates: if you follow these four words and bring them into true practice, no power on earth can stop you from reaching the top.
Murari Lal says: Canada is a dreamland and land of opportunities. All the immigrants here are too lucky and fortunate to shape their future and lead an excellent quality life.
Giving details about his interest in politics and the ideology he represents Thapliyal says that he joined the Conservative party because he was immensely impressed by the former prime minister Eastman Harbour. Moreover, since he had a background of a student leader his interest in service to the society and politics further generated from within. He adds: My mother used to say: if you become big in life one day to serve others as everybody serve themselves but no one does anything for others.
I had my mother’s wish in mind. Therefore I joined active politics and the Conservative party. Hard work with integrity and dedication is my core principle. When I came to Canada in 2003 I started my Law firm as an individual. Slowly and gradually it grew and I got a partner Prashant Rai. We formed Thapliyal and Rai Law Firm which is quite popular today having a massive clientele adds Thapliyal.
About his dedication and progress in life, Thapliyal adds: I used to work from 4 early mornings till 11.30 night and the hard work finally paid with the massive support of the multicultural and multilingual Canadians.
About his adoration and love for the party, he represents Thapkiyal says: I believe in Conservative values and former PM Eastern Harbour due to his towering and impressive leadership and tremendous acumen as well.
When the global economy viz the economy of US, China, India, etc were in jeopardy it was Canada under his leadership which stood up strongly without any hassles with the value of Canada’s dollar more than the US dollar. He further states that the Conservative party believes in the law of the land, to manage the nation’s affairs within the indigenous economic parameters, family values, and no vulgar ostentations, etc.
When I started observing the credibility of political parties after 2003 I found the liberal and NDP parties useless but conservation as a visionary party committed to working for the people and the country. So I joined it says Thapliyal about his association with the Conservatives.
Praising the constituency he is representing and criticizing his immediate political rival Thapliyal says: the most growing city of Canada is Brampton West with a whopping population of 7 lakh people.
The sitting Liberal MP Kamal Khera has literally done nothing during his tenure to serve the people. There is no university in Brampton West despite repeated demands of the electorates neither any infrastructural development.
Liberal MP Khera has never raised voice in Canadian parliament for the welfare and well being of the people of this constituency. I am getting regular feedback from people of multicultural ethnicity visiting my office and complaining me says Thapliyal.
He further adds that there had been no structural development as well. The Brampton West has been completed neglected. It’s because of these negligencies on the part of Kamal Khera the sitting MP of the liberal party I have decided to contest to fulfill the incomplete works and am amply sure rather fully confident on ” Dhanke ki chot” that I will win from Brampton West this time to serve my people.
I am sure because the way they have made me triumphed in the first ballot to be eligible for the ticket of conservative party MP, they will also make me victorious in the incoming election in October with a heavy margin.
About his future plans highly confident Thapliyal says that after winning the election my basic aim would be to generate employment through constructing hospitals, industries, universities, and educational institutions, etc. in Brampton West and serve the masses to the core to their fullest satisfaction and the faith they would be reposing in me and my leadership.

Pakistan’s ill concieved design to smuggle drugs to India to fund terror
Terrorism by Pakistan was the central theme of PM’s talks with Xi Jingping and Vladimir Putin at SCO summit in Kyrgystan
Prime minister Narendra Modi after wining the second term as prime minister has his moral very high in the SCO summit in Bishkek capital of Kyrgystan where he’d not only impressed upon the the Chinese president Xi Jingping about instructing Pakistan to close its terror sanctuaries completely and bring hard core international terrorists JEM chief Asad Masood and LET and JUD chief Hafiz Sayeed to real justice by not only arresting them but also severely trying them in courts for incessant terror deaths in Mumbai, Kashmir,Pulwama and other parts of the country.
Prime minister Narendra Modi has explicitely told the the father of Pakistan China that India will not hold any talks with Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan till Pakistan mends its ways and puts a complete stop to aiding and abetting terrorists in India.
Prime minister Narendra Modi held two rounds of dialogues with Chinese president Xi Jingping and Russian president Vladimir Putin including with the heads of other countries in Kyrgystan emphasising on a single point of global terrorism and its immediate stoppage.
He also convinced other nations to dwell on this important issue of terrorism first than talking on other bilateral matters, as safety and security of humanity is the first and foremost duty of the world leaders.
If there will be global peace only then will everyone be able to talk on other developmental issues. The Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan was seen to have been completely sidelined in the sense that it being the only country in the world supporting and abetting terrorism was viewed by every world leader with doubts and losing credibility.
While prime minister Modi spoke on every bilateral matter with both Xi Jing Ping and Vladimir Putin, his centre of emphasis was on ending terrorism globally and by Pakistan in Asia.
As for now, Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi has outrightly and specifically denied holding any type of bilateral talk with Pakistan’s premier unless or until to shows actions and commitment to free its land from terror sanctuaries completely not just a cover up to misguide the world community.
It may be recalled that China considered to be the God father of Pakistan in every way which was earlier scuttling the measures of US, UK n France by using VETO against them favoring Pakistan by not allowing JEM’s Masood Azhar to be included in the UN terror list has to finally bow down to international pressure and India’s diplomatic dexterity. China withdrew its VETO and the UN declared Masood as designated International terrorist.
This could only be possible due to the hard work done by India’s diplomats in UN and the capable leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi. The leaders of current member countries of Shaghai Cooporation Organisation are : Xi Jingping, Peoples Republic of China, Narendra Modi, Republic of India, Kassim Jomart Tokayev Republic of Kazajistan, Soron bay Jeebekov, Republic of Kyrgyztan, Imran Khan, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Vladimir Putin, Russian Federation, Republic of Tazikistan and Republic of Uzbekistan
Today marks World Day Against Child Labour
Wednesday, 12 June 2019: While the World Day Against Child Labour is being observed today (Wednesday, 12 June) throughout the world in an appropriate manner to raise awareness about the plight of child laborers global.
Almost every year 100 of children drop out from school to help their parents for livelihood, and many are forced into child labour by crime rackets, while many never get to see school because of poverty.
In India, eradicating child labour, creating awareness and discouraging the issues and demands for child labour comes a long way.
In line with this goal, In 2002, the International Labor Organization (ILO) introduced June 12 as the World Day Against Child Labor every year, to give visibility that affects children around the world.
This year’s theme is ‘Children shouldn’t work in fields, but on dreams’.
ILO defines this goal to generate awareness and encourage the basic changes so that no child is deprived of the opportunity of accessing education, health, recreation, and basic freedoms.
According to a report by the National Child Labour Survey, some 1.2 million children are still trapped with the trouble of child labor. And the number is astonishing- around 218 million children between the age 5 to 17 years are in employment, of which 152 are the victims of child labor.
We will be able to stop child labour together if we no longer accept it. Not in mines, not in agriculture, not in factories, not in the household and not in the products we buy.
The Vulture and the Little girl: The stark reality of Poverty, Hunger and Child Malnutrition
In the contemporary world, the naturally most advanced creation, human beings are delimited by numerous adversaries and miseries. Amidst such unwelcoming adversaries, poverty, hunger, and malnutrition are the biggest threat to the human race. Taking a cue from such rarest of rare demons and difficulties, I will love to pen down a beautifully narrated and highly acclaimed incident from the third world country named South Sudan in Africa.
The memorable event, The vulture and the little girl, also known as “The Struggling Girl”, is a photograph by Kevin Carter which first appeared in The New York Times on 26 March 1993. It is a photograph of a frail famine-stricken boy, initially believed to be a girl, who had collapsed in the foreground with a vulture eyeing him from nearby. The child was reported to be attempting to reach a United Nations feeding center about a half mile away in Ayod, Sudan,(now South Sudan), in March 1993.
In 1993, Kevin Carter snapped the now famous photo in South Sudan while covering the famine plaguing the country, as well as the international relief efforts in response. When the picture first appeared in The New York Times, it ignited a firestorm that included both condemnations and congratulations for Carter. Most notably, the photo won him the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography. Not long after, Carter committed suicide, unable to process the horrors he had witnessed in South Sudan. His end adds yet another layer of tragedy to this somber tale.
While on the way to a United Nations feeding center, a young boy – initially mistaken for a girl – had stopped to rest, exhausted by starvation. As his parents had likely gone ahead to collect food, the emaciated child lay vulnerable, attracting the attention of a vulture. Many people are familiar with this picture from the South Sudan famine, but few know that the tragedy reaches far beyond the picture itself – it extends to the photographer, Kevin Carter.
Putting aside the allegations and agitations of the picture and tale, one thing which must mull over in the current scenario is that whatever may be our miraculous achievement in every walk of life by the human beings, still the stigma of hunger and malnutrition prevails and persists across the globe. By no means, the people of third world countries have made themselves free out of its grief grip. To substantiate our discussion, we must make a detailed study of hunger and malnutrition.
Hunger defines a short-term physical discomfort as a result of chronic food shortage, or in severe cases, a life-threatening lack of food. (National Research Council, 2006)
World hunger refers to hunger aggregated to the global level. Related terms include food insecurity and malnutrition. Food insecurity refers to limited or unreliable access to foods that are safe and nutritionally adequate (National Research Council, 2006). Malnutrition is a condition resulting from insufficient intake of biologically necessary nutrients (National Research Council, 2006). Although malnutrition includes both overnutrition and undernutrition, the focus for global hunger is undernutrition.
Malnutrition rates remain alarming: stunting is declining too slowly while wasting still impacts the lives of far too many young children.
Nearly half of all deaths in children under 5 are attributable to undernutrition; undernutrition puts children at greater risk of dying from common infections, increases the frequency and severity of such infections, and delays recovery. We are still far from a world without malnutrition.
Measures of child undernutrition are used to track development progress. In the Post-2015 Development Era, estimates of child malnutrition will help determine whether the world is on track to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals – particularly, goal 2 to “end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture”.
Poverty, Hunger, and Malnutrition:
Child malnutrition hurts cognitive function and contributes to poverty by impeding people’s ability to lead productive lives. Poverty is the leading cause of hunger, but poverty also results from hunger, in a cyclical relationship. In spite of the importance of childhood nutrition and significant progress in the last 25 years, global childhood hunger is still rampant.
- According to WHO sources, Overall, 5.6 million children under age five died in 2016, nearly 15,000 daily. The risk of a child dying before five years of age is highest in Africa (76.5 per 1000 live births), about 8 times higher than in Europe (9.6 per 1000 live births)
- As per the report of UNICEF approximately 3.1 million children die from undernutrition each year ). Hunger and undernutrition contribute to more than half of global child deaths, as undernutrition can make children more vulnerable to illness and exacerbate the disease.
- Children who are poorly nourished suffer up to 160 days of illness each year. Undernutrition magnifies the effect of every disease including measles and malaria. The estimated proportions of deaths in which undernutrition is an underlying cause are roughly similar for diarrhea (61%), malaria (57%), pneumonia (52%), and measles (45%) Malnutrition can also be caused by diseases, such as the diseases that cause diarrhea, by reducing the body’s ability to convert food into usable nutrients
- 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, 23 million who live in Africa, which greatly impacts their ability to learn (World Food Programme [WFP].

Every year Welthungerhilfe together with Concern Worldwide publishes world hunger Index to make aware of the impoverished and malnourished. Still, crores of children die out starvation and deprived of basic amenities. Rich nations instead of increasing their imperialism must pay attention to such vulnerable and gut-wrenching issues. It is a wakeup call for all of us.
