The social media is full of pictures of prime minister Narendra Modi in various poses visiting Kedarnath Shrine today, performing Rudr Abhishekha, meeting senior officials and directing them about the developmental projects to be completed in time.

His two-kilometer trek from Kedarnath Temple to the holy cave where is meditating has also been covered by the media, electronic and print. He’s walking like a Maharaja on the red carpet with cameramen around clicking exclusive pictures in different postures too have been adequately shared in the social media as well as widely telecast by the entire national, vernacular and the global media.

In nutshell prime minister Narendra Modi’s spiritual visit according to his political and ideological rivals was more like a massive publicity exercise a day prior to the seventh and last phase polling to be held in various parts of the country on 19th.

His ardent political rivals are questioning the election commission’s integrity as to how the permission was granted to him when the code of conduct is still in force. However, the EC’s stand is that since it’s an official visit of prime minister Modi n his official capacity, the necessary permission was accorded.

In social media sites viz facebook n twitter while Modi’s supporters are lauding his visit and making his posts n pictures viral his rivals are criticizing n making mockery of his visit saying that spiritual or religious visits to pay obeisance to Gods n Goddesses should always be a personal one with no fanfare or alleged misuse of the official machinery.

Some even question as to what was the need for a red carpet welcome when it’s not accorded to general pilgrims n what was the need to accompany mediamen n cameramen along.

It is not for personal publicity n deriving political advantage during the election season.

The general secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi too wrote a small post ridiculing the prime minister Narendra Modi asking her what was the need to carry couple of new branded clothes and cameramen along ? It unambiguosly meansthathe wanted to desplay or publicise his every posture to the people of India thus defeating the actual purpose to medidate in lonliness ? According to Priyanka’s post in Hindi along with the ANI pictures of Modi meditating inside the lonely cave she writes : Kedaarnath ki Yatrakarne jab aam log jaate hain, to sabhi taam jhaam se mukt hokar, ekant mein dhyan lagaaneke liye.

Par yahan to Pradhanmantri Modiji apne liye din ke kuch jodhi naye kapde aurapni har mudra ko media mein dikhane ke liye kuch # cameramen saath le jaate hain. Dhanya hai Sahab ka camera prem.

When common people/ pilgrims visit Kedarnath, they go there in lonliness freeing themselves of all materialistic shakles inorder to medidate peacefully. But here Modiji for a day carries couple of brand new clothes and accompany mediamen n cameramen to enable publicity of his every posture. Thanks to the # love for Camera of Sir.

But above all, being a PM of a country is it not the prime minister’s privilege to acknowledge full coverage n red carpet welcome as well. What ‘s your take friends?
