There’s a saying, that the family that eats together stays together.  The world over, families often make it a point to meet for dinner, hold hands, say grace and enjoy a meal together. The film industry, too, is one big family.

Keeping this in mind, the stars of Mission Mangal directed by Jagan Shakti and produced by Akshay Kumar and R Balki decided that if there is one thing they will do, besides making a good film, it’s to, “eat, work, pray and stay happy together.”

Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and even Akshay started their film with one “personal mission.” They decided that come what may, they would eat lunch together and strengthen their bond over food. During one of our recent interactions with Taapsee, the talented actress revealed, “We made it a rule from the first day that we would have lunch together. Unless someone was unwell or needed a siesta, we lunched together every day while filming.”

Of course, it also helped that some actors had worked with each other before. Like, Taapsee has previously collaborated with Kirti on Pink, andMission Mangal is her third movie with Akshay, after Baby and Naam Shabana. Akki has previously worked with Vidya in Hey Baby and has done a couple of films with Sonakshi likeRowdy Rathore and Joker.

Even though this is the Badla actress’ first outing with Sonakshi, it didn’t take time for the two to get along well. As for the bonding between themahila mandal of Mission Mangal, there were a couple of occasions when director Jagan had to ‘pull them into the frame’.

Their bonding during the making of this film was so special that it is etched in their minds. Added Taapsee, “I was telling Vidya that while we’re happy and proud of the work we have done in the film, the memories of our bonding at lunch are equally strong. The fun times we had on the set bring a smile to our faces even now.”
