Supreme Court Likely To Hear Ayodhya Case From Monday

The Supreme Court is likely to commence hearing on a batch of petitions challenging the 2010 Allahabad High Court verdict trifurcating the disputed site at Ayodhya into three parts for Ram Lalla, Nirmohi Akhara and the original Muslim litigant.

The matter would be heard by a bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice K.M. Joseph.

The top court bench of then Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice S. Abdul Nazeer by a majority of 2:1 while rejecting the plea challenging the High Court judgment had directed that the matter would be heard by a three-judge bench from October 29

The majority judgement on September 27 held that a new constituted bench will commence hearing from October 29 on a batch of petitions filed by both the sides — Hindu and Muslim stakeholders — challenging the 2010 high court judgement.

The Muslim petitioners had pressed for hearing the challenge to the High Court judgment by a five-judge bench as the court had relied on a 1994 top court judgment that said that mosque was not essential to Islam for offering ‘namaz’.

The three-judge bench while rejecting the plea had on September 27 said, “We are of the considered opinion that no case has been made out to refer the Constitution Bench judgment of this court in Ismail Faruqui case for reconsideration.”

“We again make it clear that questionable observations made in the Ismail Faruqui’s case … were made in the context of land acquisition. Those observations were neither relevant for deciding the suits nor relevant for deciding these appeals,” the majority judgement had said.

In his minority judgement, Justice Nazeer had said that the “questionable” observations in the Ismail Faruqui ruling were arrived at without undertaking a comprehensive examination. He had said a Constitution Bench must decide what constitutes essential practices of a religion and thereafter the Ayodhya land dispute should be heard.

Justice Nazeer also said that whether mosque was an essential part of Islam for offering namaz was to be decided considering the religious beliefs, and that requires detailed consideration.

“It is clear that the question as to whether a particular religious practice is an integral part of the religion is to be considered by the doctrine, tenets and beliefs of the religion,” he observed.

He said the question of the 1994 Ismail Farooqi judgement needed to be referred to a larger Constitution Bench.

In a move to make deeper inroads in the country, digital payments company Paytm on Thursday announced to push cashback from peer-to-peer UPI transactions to offline merchant payments at retail kirana stores.

The company is aiming to partner with almost 20 million retail kirana stores, enabling them to accept all digital payment modes including UPI, wallet and cards.

“Paytm will invest money in offline merchant expansion instead of driving incentive led P2P transactions. Our offline merchants create high-frequency usage and an important use-case for Paytm consumers,” said Deepak Abbot, Senior Vice President, Paytm.

UPI P2P payments are mostly done by users to receive‍ some extra money. On Paytm, the UPI users are already the ones who have been using a large host of Paytm services for a long time and don’t nerd cashbacks to make payments.

“To further help merchants get better access to capital and provide more financial security Paytm will invest on lending and insurance, rather than on P2P payments,” the company said in a statement.

Through its payment ecosystem, Paytm has already created a network effect with over 5 billion transactions in 2018-19.

It also claims to have 12 million merchant partners accepting payments through Paytm QR, which accepts all digital payment instruments like UPI, wallets, cards and netbanking.

A few months ago, Harley-Davidson posted about its intention of making their most affordable motorcycle with a South Asian company. Now, the company has finally disclosed their big alliance with Qianjang Motorcycle, a Chinese company.

As a part of this new alliance, both the companies will co-develop their most affordable motorcycle, a 338cc naked bike that will be made in China and exported to the rest of the world. The American brand decided to go with Qianjang as it has experience in developing premium small displacement bikes, an established supply base and ability to meet customer requirements.

The American brand has released a prototype picture of its upcoming 338cc motorcycle. Harley-Davidson has ditched its traditional cruiser styling for a more modern streetfighter look. The bike seems to be built around a trellis frame, and a parallel-twin liquid cooled engine doing the job. Other bits like upside-down front forks, dual discs at the front and an all LED-headlamp setup can be seen in the released pictures. However, production model features may vary.

This new unnamed motorcycle will be first launched in China by the end of 2020, followed by launches in other Asian markets. We are expecting this bike to make its India debut in early 2021, and could be assembled at the company’s Haryana facility. By doing this, the company will be able to save on duties which will directly impact its pricing.

Unveiling what is its first all-new product for India in nearly two years, Renault has taken the wraps off of its compact seven-seater, the Triber. Making its global debut in New Delhi, the Renault Triber measures under four metres in length and, barring the Datsun Go+ MPV, is the only sub-four-metre offering in India to get three rows of seats.

Based on a modified version of the Kwid’s CMF-A platform, the Renault Triber is compact and does bear resemblance to the Kwid, but has new headlights, a new grille, a sculpted clamshell bonnet, a squared-off rear section and an upright stance, which is further accentuated by the roof rails. With the Triber, Renault aims to provide a function-over-form design that makes it possible to offer lots of space in the smallest footprint possible. The top-spec variant will sport 15-inch alloy wheels shod in 185/65 tyres.

The Renault Triber’s interior gets a dual-tone colour scheme, a 3.5-inch LCD screen in the instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is larger than the 7.0-inch unit on the Kwid, Lodgy, Duster and Captur. The infotainment system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with few intelligent functions such as driving-style coaching and driver economy rating. The second row is adjustable horizontally and comes with a reclining and split folding function. There’s a dedicated AC vent for the third row of seats, armrests and charging sockets. The third row can be removed altogether to liberate up to 625 litres of boot space.

The Renault Triber’s safety equipment list includes dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, and a speed warning system as standard. Higher variants of the Triber will get a reverse camera and two more airbags.

Powering the Renault Triber will be an upgraded version of the Kwid’s 1.0-litre (BR10), three-cylinder petrol engine making 72hp and 96Nm of torque. This engine is the same 1.0 SCe petrol motor used in international models like the Renault Clio and Dacia Sandero. The transmission options for the Triber at launch will be a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). By mid-2020, Renault will add a turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine to the Triber line-up.

The French brand claims that the total cost of ownership is 20 percent less than B segment hatchbacks. Expect Renault Triber prices to start at the Rs 5.3 lakh mark.

Google’s Safe Browsing feature will only work if it knows what websites to protect you against, which is why the tech giant is encouraging users to report suspicious sites. The company has launched a new Chrome extension called Suspicious Site Reporter, which provides you a quick way to let Google know if a website looks, well, suspicious. It adds a flag right next to your other extensions that turns orange if it finds anything doubtful about the page you’re visiting.

Sometimes the things it considers questionable are as trivial as the website not belonging in the top 5,000. But if it does find something truly unsavory, you can easily notify Google by clicking the Send Report button, which will send the company that website’s URL, a screenshot of it and all the site’s HTML. In the announcement, Google said the extension is for “power users”,presumably, that means system administrators — but we were able to access it and send a report just fine.

In addition, Google is revealing a new feature for Chrome 75 that can prevent you from loading deceptive websites. If you try to load go0gle.com instead of google.com, for instance, the browser will issue a full page warning. It will ask if the legit website is the one you actually want to go to, because you don’t usually visit the one you’re loading.

VHP and RSS to pressurise BJP govt on Ram Mandir issue at its two day Haridwar conclave on 19th, 20th June

Latest model of Ram Temple
Spread the love
Read Time: 4 minutes

The ideological parents of Bhartiya Janata Party, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh are again pressurising the BJP led NDA part two government at the centre to expedite the issue of construction of Ram Temple in a disputed site in Ayodhya at the earliest as per the pre election promise made by the saffron party to the Saints belonging to VHP and the RSS.

After winning the general elections with the thumping majority on issues such as early construction of Ram Temple, abrogation of article 370 in Kashmir, implementation of the Citizens bill guaranting citizenships to the outcast and discareded hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh and bringing a bill on cow protection etc, the hindu organisations such as VHP and RSS, the offshoots of the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party are now not in a mood to relent and have finally made up their mind to pressurise the central government accept all the above demands forthwith, obviously an another exercise to allegedly polarise the majority community for the future state elections as well.

According to one of the MP’s of BJP in the upper house of parliament, originally an RSS think tank Rakesh Sinha, he is all set to bring a private member’s  bill in the house for the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya at the earliest honouring the sentiments of billions of Ram Bhakts all over the country who’d been demanding it for decades but all in vain.

The matter of Ram Temple, however, is in the supreme court of India which has for now asked both the contesting parties to settle the dispute amicably after mutual deliberations.

The important VHP’s Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal’s massive convention alongwith the RSS is taking place in Haridwar on 19th and 20th June in which thousands of protagonists of Ram Temple and saints from all over the country including VHP and RSS cadres are likely to participate.

According to the sources a call will given from here to pressurise the Modi government to bring central legislation on this issue and pass bills of other significant matters such as abrogation of article 370 in Kashmir, citizens amendment bill, bill on cow protection etc as promised by them during the elections.

Now since the saffron party has acknowleged a landslide victory with 338 MPs on the above issues, the VHP RSS is of the strong opinion that the government fulfills all the aforesaid demands without fail and at the earliest.

It may be recalled that the Vishva Hindu Parishad and the RSS, including the Shiv Sena had prior to the elections pressurised the Modi government to bring an ordinance/ bill on the Ram Temple construction matter which is being delayed since 1994 from the time of the demolition of Babri Mosque at Ayodhya despite the very fact that the BJP has ruled the nation twice but backed out on this vexed issue despite getting overwhelmning support.

They had clearly stated that the court’s procedure being lenghty and cumbersome, the government should honour the sentiments of crores of hindus of the country and bring a bill on the issue to expedite construction of the much awaited Ram Temple but fearing the minority backlash and avoiding,  annoying the 25 crore muslims of the country, prime minister Narendra Modi had preferred relying on the apex court’s judgement rather than being partisan towards the hindu community.

Since the elections were then round the corner, the VHP and RSS had no option but to postpone its movement and support the saffron party at the hustings, assuring its cadre that the BJP government under the leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi will surely pave the way for the construction of Ram Temple post election.

Now, since the saffron party has won with a historic majority the VHP and RSS are now up in arms to pressurise the Modi government fulfil this main demand along with the other important issues by making  laws through ratification of the legislations from both the houses of parliament.

However, the fact remains that the BJP is still short of majority in the Rajya Sabha for now. It may have majority in 2020 when most of the sitting non BJP members are retiring and the new BJP MPs would replace them in the upper house.

The Shiv Sena chief Udhav Thakrey alongwith the Shiv Sena MPs would also participate in this conclave to add their voice to VHP, RSS demand for early construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
