The former Congress president and a newly elected member of parliament from Wayanad, Kerala, Rahul Gandhi has left for Amethi, his family borough from where he had been constantly winning but lost this time at the hands of the union minister Smriti Irani by over 55000 votes.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is reaching Amethi by road from Lucknow via road meeting people all the way and exchanging pleasantries with them.
After losing from his traditional stronghold Amethi and winning from Wayanad, Kerala with a heavy margin this would be Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi’s first visit to Amethi parliamentary constituency to thank people who’d voted or even not voted for him and his party.
Political analysts say that being his family borough and significant from the point of view to regaining it in future, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi,  despite losing it,  would continue to visit Amethi and establish regular connect with the electorates to keep them not only in good humour but will also analyse various pros and cons that led to his unexpected defeat.
Before leaving for Amethi via Lucknow Rahul tweeted: Ten million twitter followers – thank you to each and every one of you. I will celebrate the milestone in Amethi where I will be meeting the Congress workers and supporters.
Sources reveal that during Rahul’s Amethi visit he will also be closeted with the party leaders and workers in order to infuse in them new zeal and enthusiasm to revive and revitalise the party.
While Rahul Gandhi has one crore, twitter followers, the prime minister Narendra Modi has 48.4 million followers on his twitter handle, four times more than his arch Congress rival.  Even Amitabh Bachchan a renowned celebrity and actor has 370 lakh followers, next to prime minister Narendra Modi.
It may be recalled that in 2014, the then Congress president Rahul Gandhi had defeated union minister Smriti Irani by 1, 07, 923 votes but this time in 2019, she defeated the Gandhi family scion by over 55000 votes.
Keeping in view the massive wave of Hindu polarisation and Modi charisma this time, Rahul Gandhi had sensed his little possibility of winning from Amethi and he shifted to Wayanad, Kerala additionally to the safest seat dominated by over 55 per cent or more minorities and Christians.
Rahul won from here hands down with a massive margin of 4.31 lakh votes.
