The horrifying Unnao rape case and the Sunday’s shocking head-on collision accident by a truck with a car carrying two aunts and a lawyer including the rape survivor have outraged not only the opposition lawmakers in parliament but also led people and MPs protest inside and outside parliament.

But unfortunately the protest by the Samajwadi Party and other party MPs in the parliament house vicinity outside the house with well designed placards in their hands wearing red dress with a red party cap seemed more like a stage-managed protest as the pictures taken by a senior photojournalist Praveen Jain immaculately show the actor turned MP of Samajwadi Party in a gossiping mood smiling/ laughing than being serious on such a tragic episode.

The Samajwadi party n opposition MPs of other political outfits today staged a symbolic protest outside the parliament house building demanding justice for the rape victim and stringent action against the lawmaker of the ruling party now in Sitapur Jail undergoing a trial.

Two aunts of the Unnao rape survivor who is herself grievously injured in this accident along with her lawyer were killed on Sunday by this head-on collision of the truck with their car coming from the wrong side with its number plate covered with grease which the owner said had been done to ditch the financiers of the truck.

The police and forensic experts are minutely investigating the case. However, a CBI inquiry has been demanded by the chief of the Samajwadi Party and its MPs in this mysterious mishappening.

Meanwhile the Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also jumped into the bandwagon to gain political mileage and has tweeted for three times today questioning the prime minister as to why the criminal MLA and his erring brother has not been expelled from the party till yet and why is the criminal MLA Sengar being given political protection thus abandoning the family in distress etc.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted: Why do we give people like Kuldeep Sengar the strength and protection of political power and abandon their victims to battle for their lives alone?

The FIR clearly states that the family was threatened and apprehensive. It even mentions the possibility of a planned accident. In the second tweet, Mrs. Vadra writes: For God’s sake, Mr. Prime minister, divest this criminal and his brother of the political power, your party is giving to them.

The UP Police DG has however assured that no laxity would be adopted in the investigation and the culprits would be brought to book by all means.

The government of Uttar Pradesh is bearing all the medical expenses of the rape survivor and the lawyer grievously injured in this accident blamed by the rape survivor’s family as an alleged conspiratorial murderous attempt by the jailed MLA of Unnao.

Prahlad Joshi has requested the opposition not to politicize this unfortunate incident.

The Unnao rape case has again come to the fore after the accidental deaths of two of the immediate relatives of the Unnao rape victim who’ve also been admitted in a hospital grievously injured, unconscious and not able to give any statement to the police.

Those brutally died in the accident with the truck are the Unnao rape victim’s aunt while the rape victim and her lawyer have been grievously injured.

THE FATAL ACCIDENT had occurred yesterday in Rae Bareilly by a truck coming from the wrong side with its number plate covered killing two immediate relatives ( aunts) on the spot by hitting the car they were traveling in and grievously injuring the Unnao Rape victim n her lawyer. Both ofthem have been addmitted to the Lucknow hospital’s trauma centre.

The sister of the rape victim has openly accused the Unnao MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar who is in Jail at Sitapur, UP as undertrial of conspiring from jail to get her relatives and sister killed as they have turned police approver and therefore the main witness of the case.

The sister of Unnao rape victim has questioned as to why was the truck coming from the wrong side with its number plates covered which unambiguously states that its allegedly a premeditated murder planned by the accused lawmaker from jail.

Meanwhile, the matter has been badly hot up with the SP leader, MP and former UP CM raising the matter in the Lok Sabha with a Kaam Roko Prastaav. The Unnao rape case, however, has been under the CBI investigation.

The Director-General of Uttar Pradesh police has assured the victimized family of full justice saying that the entire episode is being investigated minutely in order to nail the culprits if any.

However, the police say that prima facie it’s looking to be an accident. The entire controversy has been highlighted in the media, national and regional, and the opposition parties have fully geared themselves up to corner the BJP politically in and outside the parliament as Uttar Pradesh is being ruled by the saffron party government and the rape accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar MLA, currently in Sitapur jail also belonged to the ruling party.

Meanwhile, in order to get political mileage, the Eastern UP in charge and Congress general secretary Priyanka Vadra has tweeted on her twitter handle expressing serious concern over this incident killing two persons and severely injuring the rape victim of Unnao.

Priyanka Vadra, Congress general secretary tweeted: The tragedy of accident of the Unnao rape victim is colossal. Where had the CBI investigation in this case reached? Why is the accused MLA still in BJP? Why is there looseness in the security of the rape victim and the witnesses? Can justice be expected from the BJP government without seeking answers to these questions?

The SP president and MP asked for the CBI inquiry in the matter while raising his voice in parliament.

According to sources, to score brownie points a good number of SP and Congress leaders have started reaching Unnao to express their solidarity with the aggrieved family.

As per the latest news, a five-member CBI team has reached the Lucknow trauma center to meet the grievously injured rape survivor and her lawyer.

The Delhi Women Commission’s chairperson who had visited Lucknow hospital and met the victim has stated that the condition of the survivor of rape is serious and should be taken to Delhi for better medical treatment and care.

Priyanka Gandhi blames UP Govt for farmer suicides

The farmers of Uttar Pradesh are in immense financial jeopardy constrained commit suicides after suicides.

The situation in Bundelkhand is especially worrisome and shocking where five farmers have allegedly committed suicides due to extensive drought and being under the weight of loan not able to repay due to unforeseen circumstances and immense hardships.

The general secretary of All India Congress Committee and in charge of Eastern Uttar Pradesh has posted a detailed story published in Punjab Kesari with her tweet expressing her grave concern of the shocking suicidal deaths of distressed farmers in Bundelkhand due to delivery of notices and threats of confiscation of their properties including non-delivery of financial compensation when they suffer the severe consequences of droughts etc.

In her tweet in Hindi reacting to the shocking story published in Punjab Kesari with photographs of suicides of farmers affixed on her twitter handle Priyanka Gandhi wrote: Kisaan Fasal Ugaate hain, Daam Nahi Milta.

Bundelkhand ke Kisaanon ko har din Kurki ki dhamkiyan mil rahi hain. Ye Kaisee Kisan neeti hai aur Kaisee karzmaafi hai jisme kisaan aatmhatya ke liye majboor ho jayen. ( The farmers sow crops, do not get rates. Don’t get compensation when there is drought.
In Bundelkhand, the farmer is getting threats of confiscation of their properties.

What kind of farmer policy is this and what kind of loan remittances which compels the farmers to commit suicides?

According to a news report published in Punjab Kesari in Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh the farmers are incessantly facing the droughts like the critical situation with literally no rainfall. The irrigation facilities are negligible. The farmers are not getting any benefit of the farmer-friendly schemes of the government.

The farmers are suffering from all angles especially the Bundelkhand peasants whose backbones have been literally broken due to the burden of farm loans resulting in incessant suicides.

But there is, unfortunately, no relief from the government’s side despite so much of so-called pro-farmer policies and assurances. This has resulted in the farmers committing suicides.

According to the news report, five farmers have committed suicides in five days and if the statistics of the entire month is analyzed about a dozen farmers of this region have allegedly committed suicides.

The main reason for these suicides is the delivery of RC to the farmers. In about a month’s time, the Aryavrat bank has singularly sent notices to about eight thousand farmers for return of farm loans. The farmers are already under heavy burden due to the loans taken for the marriages of their daughters, for the cure of critical illnesses and farms input.

In Bundelkhand, according to Punjab Kesari’s report, about 1 lakh 10 thousand peasants have sought loans from the banks out of which 70 thousand farmers are not in a position to repay the loans due to drought situation and failure of the crops.

Amongst the five farmers who’d committed suicides, one Ram Kishore had hanged himself to a tree for not able to repay the loan of Rs. five lakhs taken from banks and lords. In Naraini Tehsil Mungera village a farmer Laala committed suicide through hanging because he was not able to repay the loan of Rs two lakhs took for the treatment of his wife from local landlords and 80000 from the bank.

One Dheeraj of Kotwali not able to pay a loan of 80000 committed suicide under the running train. In village Mahokar village three kilometers away from Baanda, a farmer not able to repay a loan taken for the education of his daughter who wanted to become a doctor.

The Aryavrat Bank, which gave loan to these farmers, on the other hand, denies threatening farmers over the recovery of loans. Their regional manager OP Singh said “The state government has waived off the loan of up to Rs 1 lakh but many farmers, who have taken a loan from multiple banks, do not fall under the loan waiver category. Those who have taken a higher amount will obviously not get the benefit,” he said.

Santosh Bahadur Singh, the additional district magistrate of the Banda district, said, “Farmers committing suicide is a matter of huge concern. I have personally met the bereaved families in some cases where other reasons were also responsible for the suicide. The stray cattle menace is also a big issue here. We want the public to support us in overcoming the problem.”

However, the ruling party claims that the issue of suicide by farmers in Bundelkhand is being investigated. UP BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said, “The Yogi Adityanath government has provided loan waiver benefits to 86 lakh farmers which are highest in the country. Our government is devoted to improving the lives of the farmers. If such incidents are happening we will certainly get them investigated and take necessary action.”

Priyanka Vadra’s arrest reminiscences the Belchi visit of her grand mother

The arbitrary arrest of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi heading for Sonbhadra yesterday i.e. 19th July to meet the bereaved families and the grievously injured victims of massacre of 12 innocents of Gond community by a landlord village head Yagya Dutt and his goons who came on 32 tractors killing and injuring several poor villagers has created an immense anger, annoyance, disenchantment and furore amongst the Congress leaders and rank and file at the pan India level with hundreds of workers thronging the arrest site in Chunar to express their solidarity with their leader thus helping in reviving and regenerating a new lease of life in a non functional Congress party after the desperate resignation of her brother Rahul Gandhi as Congress chief taking the responsibility of the election debacle on his head.

You may recall that Congress general secretary  Priyanka Gandhi was arrested on 19th July when she was peacefully protesting after having been restricted by the UP administration to meet the injured and the bereaved families of the diabolical Sonbhadra massacre.
Priyanka’s visit reminds me of the similar visit of her grandmother, former prime minister Indira Gandhi to Belchi, Bihar during the Janata Party rule after 1977 when several Dalits were massacred by the higher caste landlords creating quite a ripple and sensation in the national and international media and political circles as well.
Late Mrs Gandhi was then out of power, having lost her own Lok Sabha seat from Rai Bareilly to late Raj Narain, the then health minister in the govt of Janata Party conglomeration.
She had visited Belchi climbing on an elephant to know the welfare and well being of the bereaved family.
Her Belchi visit was so popularised in the media that it, later on, resulted in her coming back to power at the centre defeating badly the conglomeration of the 22 national political outfits called the Janata Party that ruled for merely 22 months and tore apart like the pack of cards.
Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to Sonbhadra seems to repeat the episode of her grand mother’s Belchi, Bihar visit during Janata Party era earning the sympathy of the Dalits and have nots all over the country.
In a democratic country can’t a peace-loving leader of a national party visit the victims of the massacre to know about their well being asked Priyanka Gandhi before her being arrested.
This raises a question that the UP CM Yogi Aditya Nath and the BJP leadership is highly apprehensive of the increasing political popularity and clout of Priyanka Gandhi who seems to be the next leader in the making in Congress Party after Rahul Gandhi’s resignation.
Voices within and outside the Congress have already started emerging in favour of Sonia Gandhi to make her the Congress president.
The way Priyanka sat on the Dharna in protest yesterday while heading for Sonbhadra after having been forbidden to do so on the bare ground with her supporters and arrested later on, reminiscences of her grandmother again when she during the Janata Party rule in 1978 also sat on the road after having been arrested and paraded on foot while late Choudhary Charan Singh was the home minister in Morarji Desai’s tenure as PM while handcuffed.
Mrs Gandhi had thereafter returned to power with a thumping majority, gaining the sympathy of the people nationwide.
Political analysts say that by repeating the same blunder through vindictive politics, the present political dispensation in Uttar Pradesh and at the centre is not only opening the doors for the revival and rejuvenation  of Congress Party at the national level but also giving leverage/ impetus to the anti-opposition forces under Congress party to unite thus able to forge a formidable challenge to it in the future.
The Congressmen and the people see in Priyanka Gandhi a shadow of late Indira Gandhi, a formidable leader of international eminence credited for dividing Pakistan in 1971, creating Bangladesh whom even the former prime minister, the then opposition leader late Atal Bihari Vajpayee publicly accorded the title of Durga Maa.
Meanwhile, Congressmen from all over the country are converging at Varanasi and Sonbhadra to express solidarity with there arrested leader who was holed up in the guest house whole night under arrest.
Rahul Tweeted: The arbitrary arrest of Priyanka Gandhi in Sonbhadra is disturbing. This arbitrary application of power to prevent her from meeting the 10 families of Adivasi farmers brutally gunned down for refusing to vacate their own lands reveals the BJP government’s increasing insecurity in UP.
At the same time hopefully, Congress wants to support the bereaved families sincerely and this is not a publicity stunt by them where they want to leverage this unfortunate incident to their advantage. As after the Photo Op and Dharna drama is over Mrs Vadra has gone back to her daily life.

The chief minister of the national capital territory of Delhi and AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has made a positive announcement for more than fifty lakh populace of the unauthorized colonies of the capital regarding granting of ownership rights to the house owners through registries.
Till now the sale purchase of lands and houses in the unauthorised colonies was done  through power of attorney which was not fully legally tenable.
This announcement would benefit more than half a crore Delhites living in unauthorised colonies for years under shabby conditions without any adequate civic facilities.
The Delhi government will charge a minimum development charge of merely Rs. 6000 from each house owner before registering their power of attorney.
The Delhi chief minister said that the Delhi cabinet has passed a proposal to this effect and has sent it to the central government for clearance. Kejriwal is of the opinion that it will be duly passed by the central government after posing a few questions which will be clarified in a due course.
He thanked the union government for putting its seal of approval on his government’s recommendation.
In a tweet in Hindi Arvind Kejrival stated:
‘Kachi colonion mein rehne vaale logon ko badhayi. Jald aapko milega apne makaanon ka maalikana haq. Hamari sarkaar ke November 2015 ke prastaav ko kendra sarkaar manjuri dene ko tayyar. Jald registry karne ki tayyariyaan shuru. Dilli ke logon ki ore se kendra sarkaar ka bahut bahut shukriya.’
Translated in English: ‘Congratulations to the people living in unauthorized colonies. Soon you will get the ownership rights for the house you own. The central government is ready to give clearence to our government’s proposal of November 2015. Now, soon there can be a registry of your houses. On behalf of the Delhi people, I thank the central government very much.’
It may be recalled that there is not much time left for the Delhi elections due in February 2020. The Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is, therefore, throwing googlies after googly.
He had recently announced that in Delhi Metro, the women will be provided free travel facility. He had earlier also announced that a 1000 or more electric buses will be introduced in Delhi, which is greater than the commitment of all Indian cities put together. Now this googly from Kejriwal of granting of ownership rights to lakhs of residents of 1727 unauthorized colonies of Delhi.

It was finally a permanent goodbye to the former Congress turned BJP lawmaker from Khanpur, Haridwar, Uttarakhand after so much of hullaballoo in the political and media circles over his unethical and derogatory remarks against Uttarakhand. He was seen openly dancing and consuming liquor holding three pistols and a carbine in a video that went viral.

Yes, we are talking here about the landlord of Landaur and muscle man of Khanpur, MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion who’d been expelled from Bhartiya Janata Party for six years.
In an expulsion letter served to him today with the date of 17th July, the BJP’s national general secretary Arun Singh has said that taking into account the indiscipline of the MLA from Khanpur, Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion, the BJP is suspending him from the primary membership of the party for six years.
The decision is being executed forthwith said the letter. The copies of this expulsion letter have been sent to the national president of BJP, Uttarakhand state BJP president, president national executive and to the national general secretary, in charge of Uttarakhand BJP.
Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion had joined the BJP from Congress in 2017 along with 11 MLAs after having differences with Harish Rawat, the then chief minister of Uttarakhand. He had been in usual controversies sometimes even for illegal firing from his pistol publicly. He is also responsible for uploading videos on social media while enjoying the dances on Bollywood numbers and for brandishing pistols as well including using unethical and unparliamentary comments against Uttarakhand and its people, thus bringing immense disrepute to the saffron party.
The Congress and even the BJP leaders and lawmakers from Uttarakhand were badly annoyed with his misconduct and unethical behavior and had demanded his expulsion from the party after the controversial video was repeatedly telecast in the national and regional media.
There were lots of foes of Champion even in BJP Uttarakhand as more or less every lawmaker, even ministers were allegedly scared of him.

Speaker fixes Thursday for floor test in Karnataka Vidhana Soudha

Speaker of Karnataka Vidhan Saudha

The Karnataka political turmoil seems to have reached to a conclusion for the time being as both the warring parties, the Congress JD( U) combine and the BJP have agreed to a proposal for calling the floor test on Thursday at Bengaluru Vidhana Soudha to finally decide which political party commands the requisite majority to form the government in the  southern state.

The former chief minister and BJP leader Yaduruppa had met the speaker and had requested him to call the house for floor test at the earliest but the latter had turned it down as the apex court’s decision of the Karnataka impasse is to be delivered tomorrow evening.
Meanwhile, emerging out of the political affairs committee meeting, the former Congress CM of Karnataka and CLP leader Sidharamaih revealed that after discussions with the Congress JD ( S) combine as well as the BJP the speaker has fixed Thursday for the floor test in the Karnataka Vidhana Soudha.
There will be a detailed debate in the house and the voting will take place thereafter.
This means that now both the Congress JD ( S) alliance and the BJP are quite eager to derive maximum advantage from the impending political crisis and  for this, they have three days with them.
Political observers say the ruling coalition leaders will do their best to woo the annoyed dissidents during these 72 precious hours.
However, it remains to be seen whether the obstinate dissidents, now in all 17 in numbers will fall into the Congress JD( S) trap?
It may be recalled that all the dissident lawmakers of Congress and JD(S) are still holed up in a Hotel in Mumbai and are still adamant over resigning from their respective seats. Further, they want to extend their undisputed support to BJP.
They have also lodged a complaint with the highest police authority of Mumbai to provide them adequate security as they fear for their life.
They have also asked the police authorities to not allow any political leader of Mumbai or Karnataka visit them in the hotel as their decision to resign and thereafter also support the BJP is final.
It may be recalled that at the first instance about 14 to 15 MLAs of the Congress and JD( S) had submitted their resignation letters to the speaker followed by two independent and three Congress lawmakers.
This had led to the reduction of the JD(S) Congress strength from earlier 118 to 101 while the BJP’s strength increased to 107 after the support of the two independents.
According to political analysts if the ruling coalition succeeds to persuade a minimum of six of its MLAs if not all, it would still be in a comfortable position to save their government. As for sure one vote of the speaker in the event of a tie would go in their favour.
However, the Karnataka crisis has further aggravated and all eyes are now fixated on tomorrow’s apex court judgement as well as the floor test on Thursday. For now, the Supreme Court has directed the speaker to maintain the status quo.

In view of the confusing situation in the Congress party to elect its new leader and party president, after the resignation of Rahul Gandhi and likely loss of its two government’s in Karnataka and Goa reducing its governments’ number in states compared to the BJP which has is governments in 19 states, the moral of its rank and file is highly demoralized and the country’s media, allegedly  influenced by the supposed backing of the ruling party is further  leaving no stone unturned to make mockery of the party that ruled the country  for more than six decades since independence.
The saturation point of tolerance of various senior leaders and the younger ones’ has also reached its maximum with the party veterans like Dr. Karan Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and party general secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia, urging the highest decision making body  of Congress, the Congress Working Committee to elect a new but energetic, experienced and dynamic youth leader as the next president in order to resurrect the party at the pan India level and save it from going into disorientation after Rahul’s resignation, at the earliest.
There had been repeated and a number of attempts by the chief ministers of Congress-ruled states like Ashok Gehlot, Kamal Nath, Baghel and senior most party leaders including Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi to persuade Rahul Gandhi to take back his decision but of no avail.
Finally, the top leadership of the party has now decided to convene the Congress Working Committee next week or so and take a formidable decision to choose a new leader from outside the Nehru Gandhi family.
There are reports that Congress’s senior-most leader Sonia Gandhi and Rahul has confabulated with other senior leaders and come to the conclusion of reaching at a consensus on a new party president’s name at the earliest, so as to put a full stop to all speculations and quickly move forward to rejuvenate the party at the national level as well as in states.
There had been several exercises earlier as well, after Rahul Gandhi’s quitting from the national presidentship and names of Ashok Gehlot, Captain Amarinder Singh, Sachin Pilot, Mallikarjun Kharge, Jyotiraditya Scindia, etc were discussed but nothing concrete or fruitful has come out till yet.
The party seems to be more interested in a young and Dalit face to give an impression that Congress party worries about the lowest ebb of society.
According to the latest sources though the name of Jyotiraditya Scindia was cropped up recently for the top slot but he’d refused and 59-year-old former youth Congress leader, former union minister and a Dalit from Maharashtra Mukul Wasnik’s name is appearing as a forerunner.
While Mukul Wasnik is youthful, a committed Congressman, a capable organizer, and well-read politician, his Dalit background too suit the party tremendously.
It’s almost final now that in a week or two week’s time a new Congress party president would be elected or appointed by the Congress Working Committee.

The Congress members of parliament under the leadership of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and United Progressive Alliance’s chairperson Sonia Gandhi today staged a tumultuous protest outside parliament house but within its vicinity demanding stoppage to alleged threatening of lawmakers in Karnataka and Goa and subversion of democracy in the country, accusing the ruling BJP of destabilising the democratically elected opposition governments in both the states.

The protesting Congress MPs were carrying placards in their hands and raising slogans like Loktantra ki Hatya  bandh karo, daraana dhamkana band karo.
Prominent amongst those present in the protest demonstration apart from other Congress MPs were Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi,  interim Congress president Moti Lal Vohra, former union defence minister A. K. Antony, Anand Sharma, and others.
The protesting members of parliament were also carrying placards in their hands mentioning Save Democracy and Loktantra Bachao in Hindi and English.
In addition to this protest march and demonstration the former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in the presence of prime minister Narendra Modi and his entire cabinet including a fully packed house spoke on the problems of the farmers of the country accusing the BJP led NDA government for literally doing nothing for ameliorating the grievances of the farmers committing suicides in the country while demitting  loans of several lakh crores of rupees of the rich capitalists.
Raising the issue of the farmers distress in the Lok Sabha during the Zero hour, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi acquainted the government and the house about the unfortunate suicide of a poor farmer in Wayanad, Kerala the constituency represented by him and said that about 8000 farmers of Wayanad had been sent notices and their properties confiscated by the government leaving them in acute financial jeopardy.
He accused the BJP led NDA government of demitting the loans of 5.5 lakh crores of the rich businessmen of the country during the last five years but has done nothing to ameliorate the grievances of the farmers of the country.
Amidst immense shouting by the opposition benches union defence minister Rajnath Singh blamed the previous Congres governments for the mess in the agricultural sector and said that the distressing condition of the peasants of the country had happened during the last 7 decades of Congress rule instead of the 5-year rule of the BJP.
He disclosed that the maximum number of the farmers had committed suicides during the last 7 decades during the Congress rule whereas the BJP led NDA government has increased the maximum support prices of the farmers during the last five years as promised earlier.
