The spread of coronavirus at this unprecedented level has sure put a damper on things, hasn’t it? While many things have gone wrong this year, all we can do is hope for this to blow over soon. With safety and containment being the primary concern, the whole nation has been under lockdown for well over a month now. Keeping this in mind, many manufacturers have put launches of their products on hold. The automobile sector is no different. Today, I bring to you five such motorcycles whose launches have been put on hold.

Royal Enfield J1D motorcycle:

This new model is shrouded in mystery for now as not a lot is known about it. But we do know that it is based on the new J1D platform.  The new platform has been developed for a new line-up of motorcycles. There might be a whole new model at the entry-level for all we know. I guess we just wait and watch in anticipation now!

2020 Triumph Tiger 900

This new adventure tourer was programmed to be launched in India in April 2020. But, alas, it was put into lockdown too. It has been delayed by a few weeks. But hopefully, once things normalize, the operations will kick-start again. The Triumph Tiger range predicted to be really successful in India. This, coupled with the Bonneville series, will set the market at a different high. They are slated to get more upgrades as well!

Another Triumph motorcycle to be launched after the lockdown ends is the Tiger 900. This was planned to be launched in March originally. But sadly, it saw an indefinite delay due to the pandemic lockdown. Many comprehensive upgrades have been made to this. It also includes a BS6/Euro5 compliant 765 cc three-cylinder engine.

Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6

The BS6 Benelli Imperiale 400 was supposed to go on sale in April. But it was also postponed indefinitely. This bike model will be the first BS6 compliant manufacturing from Benelli India. The new 374 cc single-cylinder, the fuel-injected engine will meet the new emission norms in place. Though it is too early to speculate, we expect identical features as the current version.

Hero Xtreme 160R

Last but not the least, The Hero Xtreme 160R. It made an appearance at Hero World 2020 and was to be launched in March. However, it has been indefinitely delayed. This bike is the manufacturer’s initial offering in the 160 cc premium commuter segment. It has an all-new frame, engine kill switch, hazard lights, and more. You can expect LED lighting as well. It has a powerful engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The price is expected to be between ₹ 90,000-95,000 (ex-showroom).
