There are rumours that the name of Modi protagonist and his ardent supporter Genl. GD Bakshi, also a defence analyst and a vociferous speaker on India television debates on vexed Kashmir issue, is being considered for the pivotal post of strife torn Jammu & Kashmir as the term of the current governor N.N. Vohra is expiring on 28th June. However, there are also unconfirmed reports that the term of Vohra have been extended.

Eighty two years’ old veteran civil servant N.N. Vohra has served as governor of this terrorist infested state for the last ten years and had been trying his best to come true to the responsibility reposed in him. Major General (retired) G.D. Bakshi who had been been involved in various successful anti insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab in the past, posseses tremendous experience in counter terrorist measures and assignments and is also the recipient of prestigious Seva Medal, Vishisht Sena Medal. He is also credited for having successfully contributed in the Kargil war during the tenure of prime minister ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE.

According to reliable sources the name of Major General Bakshi is actively doing the rounds of ruling political corridors of North Block as he’s in the good books of the prime minister Narendra Modi, the home minister Rajnath Singh and the NSA Ajit Dobhal.

Being a hardcore pro Hindu officer having an outstanding knowledge of anti terrorist operations and extremely well versed in the intrecracies of the military equipments, warfare and anti insurgency matters having a fantastic track record as an exceptional officer with exemplary performance and courage, Major General GD Bakshi seems to be best and the most suited choice in the present situation when Jammu and Kashmir is in greatest turmoil and killings of innocent civilians and Army personels have assumed gigantic proportions going beyond control.

If one goes by the authentic statistics more than 400 army jawans and civilians have been killed during the last four years since 2014 after the BJP led NDA assumed power at the centre.

However, a good number of terrorists have also been lynched by the Army during the same period, as claimed by the government.

The effective surgical strike killing several militants and Pak sponsored terrorists while eliminating 90 terrorist launch pads on Pakistani soil was also carried out successfully in retaliation to the Pak sponsored terror attack in an Army camp killing 20 of our soldiers and Army officers diring prime ministerNarendra Modi’s tenure.

Major General G. D. Bakshi had been a great orator and eloquent speaker on matters of insurgency and Pak sponsored terrorism on various television channels badly scolding and countering the Pakistani generals and pseudo secular analysts on J& K situations.

He is considered to be a hard core Hindu protagonist and die hard Modi supporter. He is a renowned defence analyst, as well, who also contributes his write ups to several national dalies on counter insurgency subjects n defence matters. While the rumours are floating some are terming the speculation as pure bathroom gossip while some as a biased news item.
