It’s raining cats n dogs in Uttarakhand with heavy snowfall in high altitude areas. Kedarnath n Badrinath areas worst affected

Kedarnath Temple and its surrounding vicinity is covered by 5 to six feet snow these days. The temperature is below several degrees. God Shiva is on a protracted sleep.

It’s raining in entire Uttarakhand. All the 13 districts of Uttarakhand particularly the upper mountainous terrain areas like Kedarnath, Chamoli, Gopeshwar, Rudraprayag, Tharali, Pauri, even valleys like Srinagar, Devprayag n Dehradun it’s raining cats n dogs and chilling cold waves flowing downwards sending cold shivers in the down stream states like Delhi.

According to Amar Ujala the weather predictions of the meteorological department that there would be excessive rains n snow fall in majority of Uttarakhand areas have come to be true with heavy rain falling in Dehradun, Pauri, Gairsain, Srinagar, Khatima , Almora, Pithoragarh n Nainital and its surrounding far off areas.

The upper reaches of Narayan bagadh, Gopeshwar Joshimath, Pokhri, Ghaat, Dewal, Tharali, Pipalkot also confronted heavy rains with chilling waves/ weather compelling households to remain indoor impacting the temperature of Delhi as well .

In Delhi too it’s raining cats n dogs with repeated thundering of clouds in the evening bringing down the temperature.

There were deep clouds in the sky over the entire Chamoli district since morning with heavy rainfall n snow fall thereafter . In the Yamunotri and Gangotri areas too there was enough rainfall affecting the temperature to minus degrees.

However during the day there was feeble sunshine. Even the areas of Badrinath n Hemkunth Sahib including Valley of flowers, Gaurson Meadows , Nanda Ghunghuti n the valleys of Neeti Maana near China border witnessed heavy rain and snowfall.

On Thursday there had been mild but continuous snowfall in Kedarnath Badrinath areas resulting in absolute chilling cold. There are currently only 19 people stranded in Kedarnath area though indoors and fully safe. In majority of the snowfall n heavy rain affected areas the schools up to 12th standard and all Aanganbaaries have been closed for a week especially in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Champawat.

Red alert have been declared in the heavy rain n snow fall affected areas. The upper reaches of Bageshwar, Pinder Ghati, Kapkot, Garud n Kaanda areas in Kumaon division of Uttarakhand the temperature has gone to minus degrees with cold wave resulting in chilling n unbearable weather.
