I have lost a part of my childhood: Shah Rukh Khan pays rich tribute to Vajpayee

The Bharat Ratna and former prime minister Atal Bihari Bajpayee passed away at AIIMS in Delhi today. The nation is mourning the death of a statesman. Other than the politicians, Bollywood too remembered Vajpayee as a tall leader of the Indian politics.

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has paid rich tribute to the former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee, through twitter SRK in his long note, said that he had lost a part of his childhood.

Recalling the memories, Khan said, “My father used to take me for every speech that Mr Vajpayee made in Delhi when I was growing up. Years on I had the opportunity to meet him and spend lots of time discussing poetry, films, politics and out ailing knees.”

The 52year old actor further said , “I had also the privilege of enacting one of his poems for screen. He was fondly addressed as ‘Baapji’ at home. Today the country has lost a Father Figure and a great leader.”

Baadsah extended deepest condolences to his family and friends, and said he will miss smiling face Baapji.

In his tweet, Shah Rukh also shared the link to the song Kya Khoya Kya Paya, for which he had collaborated with Vajpayee. It was sung by the late Jagjit Singh.

The 93-year-old leader has been breathed his last today (Thursday August 18) in AIIMS.
