As per the news pouring in, the Supreme Court bench led by chief justice Ranjan Gogoi today gave a big jolt to Congress party and the entire non BJP oppostion after it categorically cleared the union government of all the charges of irregularities or alleged corruption saying that the Rafale Jetfighter government to government deal was fully transparent and genuine and no unfair or wrongdoings have been committed while finalising the Rs 58000 crore deal.

The apex court very clearly stated that after personally interacting with the topmost officers of Indian Air force n studying the case in detail, it is of the unambiguous opinion that while the Indian adversaries are procuring the fighter jets of fourth n fifth generation , there is also an imperative need for the Indian government to strengthen its air force combat capacity and defence power n hence there is no harm in procuring the best of defence fighters like Rafale. It’s rather an urgent and mandatory necessity to equip the country with best of advanced fighter jets.

The court which has reserved the judgement has said that after examining the whole issue in depth n detail it has come to the conclusion that no unfair means or irregularities have been committed in finalising the Rafale Jetfighter deal.

The court is not entitled to decide 36 vs 126 Rafale or about the offset deal being given to which private party, its solely the government’s prerogative to finalise the deal and that of the vendor to decide its offset partner.

The apex court also dismissed all the petitions filed in the court challenging the Indo French Rafale deal allegedly accusing the government of high level corruption.

According to the latest news, hearing number of petitions on the Rafale issue allegedly accusing of criminality in the Indo French Jetfighter deal requesting for the Supreme Court monitored inquiry, the three judge bench led by chief justice Ranjan Gogoi asked several questions of the government on issues including lack of sovereign guarantee from the French government, selection of Indian offset partner by Dassault Aviation and need of entering into an Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) with France but finally felt satisfied that no wrong doing or corrption has been committed in the deal. It gave a clean chit to the union government thus amounting to a huge jolt to the Congress party n the anti BJP opposition.

It may be recalled that the petitions against the Rafale Jetfighter deals were filed in the apex court by Sr Advocate Prashant Bhushan, veteran journalist n former union minister Arun Shourie, Yashwant Sinha Vineet Handa, advocate n his colleague.

The Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and the above trio of Arun Shourie, Yashwant Sinha and Prashant Bhushan had been badly behind the ruling party n the prime minister Narendra Modi holding several press conferences and addressing public meetings castigating them in the Rafale deal, the charges outrightly denied by the ruling party and Anil Ambani.

The recent Supreme Court’s assertion giving clean chit to the government and dismissing their petitions have proved to be a huge jolt to the Congress party and the above trio giving a clear upper hand and advantage to the BJP led NDA government at the centre.

Meanwhile the Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said and tweeted that the honourable Supreme Court vindicated the Congress party’s stand on Rafale the JPC is the only solution to pin down the corruption in # Rafale Deal.

We have been demanding this since day one. Only JPC shall examine the file notings, PM must submit himself to JPC. Only then will we know how corruption took place in the highest echelons of power.
