Sonakshi Sinha gives a befitting reply to a sexist question asked at Kalank teaser launch

The teaser of Kalank was finally released yesterday much to the excitement of the fans. A grand teaser launch event was held at a popular theatre in Mumbai and it was attended by the whole team of the film. The lead actors Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapuralong were seen in their fashionable best. The director Abhishek Varman and producers Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala also marked their presence at the launch.

During the event, a lot of questions were thrown at the stars and they were seen replying to most of them. One of the questions asked to the Kalankteam was about the thought behind introducing the female characters first in the teaser. Sonakshi gave a bang-on reply stating, “Hopefully, a time will come when such questions will not pop up any more”.

While Karan added, “We are brought into this world by women. I am raised by strong women and I would say that these three women characters are the heart, soul and spine ofKalank. So, their strength, beauty and intellect (is something) men could never match up”.

Talking about the film, Kalank is set against the backdrop of the 1940s during the Partition era. The movie is Abhishek’s second directorial after2 States which starred Alia and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles.

Kalank also marks the reunion of Sanjay and Madhuri after two decades and people couldn’t contain their excitement after sharing seeing them share a frame in the teaser. The film is slated to release on April 17, 2019.
