Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in legal trouble over refusing anti-polio drops for his children

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan faced legal trouble when he refused to take anti-polio drops for his children. Fawad isn’t the only name to be involved in such a case. Six other Pakistanis, some from his family too, have been booked under a case by the police.

An official, as reported by Times Of India, claims that the polio task force teams wanted to immunise Fawad’s daughter, but his family refused to let them do so. Spokesperson of Prime Minister’s Polio taskforce Babar Bin Ata reportedly said, “Mrs. Fawad thinks getting their daughter immunised from the UK will give the child protection against WPV1 strain. Protection against Wild Poliovirus can only be guaranteed with Oral Polio Vaccine.”

He even went on to accuse that Fawad’s driver and family misbehaved with the team when they wanted to vaccinate the child. “Fawad is our pride, I request him to allow teams to vaccinate the child. Lahore has had a polio case last week, we must protect the child,” he had tweeted.

Since Pakistan is still not polio-free, the campaign is on in full swing. The country’s government even went on to admit that active poliovirus transmission was recorded across eight cities of the country.

Fawad, like all other Pakistani actors, has been banned in India. His last Bollywood film was Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He previously worked in Khoobsurat and Kapoor & Sons.
