Hundreds of people of Uttarakhand living in Delhi viz journalists, social activists, retired government servants, women, youth and students protested in front of Press Club of India on the last day of the parliament session and presented a memorandum to the prime minister in his South block office on 9th February, 2018.

The demonstration held under the banner of GAIRSAIN RAJDHANI NIRMAN SAMITEE consisted of several socio political organisation like the UKD, Uttarakhand Journalists Forum, Akhil Bhartiya Uttarakhand Mahasabha, Uttarakhand Ekta Manch, E Gairsain group, organisation working for child rights, etc. The furious demonstrators who were addressed by senior journalists and activists M/s Avtar Negi, Charu Tiwari, convenor Dev Singh Rawat, President of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum, Sunil Negi, literateur Pooran Kandpal, Dr. Hari Suman Bisht, Anil Pant, Devendra Bisht, etc raised anti BJP government slogans and demanded declaration of Gairsain as the capital of Uttarakhand with immediate affect.

The processionists marched towards parliament raising slogans but were stopped by the heavy cardon of Delhi police. Four representatives were allowed to go the PM’s office to deliver the memorandum. According to the memorandum since the Gairsain capital is a technically feasible demand as per the Kaushik Committee of the government being equidistant from both the Kumaon and Garhwal divisions and a legislative Assembly building has already been build with vast infrustructure investing several hundred crores including the previous assembly sessions and the likely budget session in March, it should now be declared as the capital of Uttarakhand forthwith.

The memorandum adds that the declaration of Gairsain capital will not only pave the way for the all round decentralisation of the interior villages and the local populace who are rampantly migrating towards cites and towns but will also help in reverse migration and shifting of the state secretariats and officers to the inner parts of the hills this compelling them implement hill oriented decentralized development than the city oriented progress that has resulted in discrimination of the rural populaton.

While the creation of Gairsain as the hill state’s capital will create lots of job opportunities and open developmental avenues in health, education and industrial sectors, it will be a befitting heartfelt tributes to the revolutionery hero of historical PESHAVAR KANND Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali who also had pledged in Dudhatoli to create a separate Uttarakhand state and Gairsain as its capital.

The prime minister of India Narendra Modi has termed the union budget of 2017-18 as people friendly, farmer friendly, business and investment friendly, youth friendly and poor friendly and has emphasised that the Health assurance policy AYUSH would directly benefit about fifty crore people of the country from the middle class to those living at the lowest ebb of the society.

Hailing this newly introduced health assurance scheme of his government and terming it as first initiative in the whole world benefitting 500 million people, prime minister Modi said that any person suffering from illness particularly the critical illness would be able to receive free treatment/ surgery etc worth five lakh rupees free of cost, every year.

He further said that under the Ujjwala scheme lakhs of poor and economically deprived people, particularly those living under poverty line would get free gas connections and lakhs of houses in the rural areas would be provided free electricity. He said the government would not charge a single paisa tax in Rs one lakh treatment amount of a patient and also on the premium of Rs fifty thousand.

The new Shramik” labourer would get the EPF contribution to the tune of 12% from the government’s side. About 24 new medical colleges cum hospitals would be constructed in various parts of the country to provide free treatment to the poor. However, no mention has been made on employment front and non relief to the salaried government and private sector employees on annual tax exemption. The government will provide 8% annual interest on the deposit of Rs 15 lakhs.

The former finance minister of India P Chidamram however termed the budget at mere JUMLA and said that peoples’ expectations have been fully belied on all counts especially on job generation front, health sector, slashing of funds on majority of important schemes for the welfare of the poor, tax front and farm sector.
About 700 districts of the country are being fully developed with infrastructural development and road connectivity as per the provisions made in the budget added the prime minister.

Hindus call the river Ganga Mata, or mother Ganga, and they believe that a dip in the holy river absolves sins of a whole lifetime.

Indian government has spent less than a 25% of the funds available for a mission to clean up the river Ganga over the past two years. This information has come to light after a federal audit, which has cited various lapses in the core planning and overall financial management of this flagship scheme.

The Modi government had only used approximately USD 260 million of the USD 1.05 billion that was allocated for the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) program for the period April 2015 to March 2017, this is according to a CAG report. The report also says that it is found in a survey that the water quality in eight of 10 towns along the Ganga did not meet the outdoor bathing standards. The160-page report was presented to parliament last week. Since then the water resources ministry, which is in charge of the NMCG, had been unable to respond to a request for comment.

PM Narendra Modi’s administration had committed USD 3 billion in the year 2015 for a five-year project to clean the 2,525-km long stretch of river that is heavily polluted despite it being a water source for more than 400 million people.

PM Narendra Modi, who himself represents the holy city of Varanasi, had made the clean-up of the river one of his key campaign promises in the 2014 general election, which he won with a heavy margin.

The Ganga river is one of the most revered rivers in the world but sadly also one of the most polluted. It is worshipped primarily by Hindus, who make up for about 80 % of India’s 1.3 billion population. Hindus call the river Ganga Mata, or mother Ganga, and they believe that a dip in the holy river absolves sins of a whole lifetime.

This river, stretching from the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal, is also used as dump for waste products, produced by hundreds of factories which flow untreated into the Ganges. It is time that the government reconsiders its position and takes strict measures to purify the most revered river in India.

According to a government official, among the eight bidders who are competing for Indian Railways’ first global tender to supply 487,000 tonnes of rails, the most prominent ones are- Japanese trader Sumitomo Corp & India’s Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. The tender was drafted openly on Friday, 22nd Dec.

The other popular bidders are East Metals AG, which is a unit of Russian steel and the coal producer Evraz, Voestalpine Schienen which is a Austrian company, the CRM Hong Kong Trading Ltd, the New Delhi-based Atlantic Steels, a French company, British Steel, France Rail and lastly the China-based Angang Group International.

The tender is supposed to end the monopoly of the state-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) in supplying rails to the world’s fourth largest rail network of India. Heavy losses have made SAIL struggle to meet the railways’ rising demands.

The steel and rail ministries of India, however, have always been engaged in a head-on dispute over the state-run network’s decision to buy the required amount of rails from overseas. This problem continues to hamper the railways despite the assurances of supply from SAIL & the New Delhi-based Jindal Steel and Power.

After several meetings, the railways of India slashed its tender size by more than 30 % to 487,000 tonnes of rails after SAIL had said that it would scale up its supply to 950,000 tonnes in this year and 1.5 million tonnes in the next.

The committee which oversees domestically manufactured iron and steel products for several government projects is currently headed by the top civil servant in the ministry of steel.

The panel had also given a one-time waiver to the Indian railways to gather or buy the rails from overseas on one condition that, it would give 20 % of the contract to a domestic steel producer. This clause could help Jindal Steel in winning its first contract with the Indian railways.

The waiver came after a meeting held at PM Narendra Modi’s office on Dec. 19 between officials of ministry of steel and the Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal.

Prime Minister Modi’s office recently asked all the government departments to prioritise the use of local assets in state projects, after domestic companies had objected to the open tender by the Indian railways.

The prime minister Narendra Modi termed the victory of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections as an outstanding triumph and said that it’s a historic mandate on his policies and programmes of reformation and development. Congratulating the electorates of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, national party president Amit Shah, the party leaders and rank and file, highly spirited Modi amidst the thunderous applause from the audience said that this is a historic victory for the party as despite securing an absolute majority in Himachal Pradesh, the committed workers of BJP of Gujarat have made the 5th time successive victory possible.

This is no ordinary achievement but a historic win for the fifth time in succession which is an extraordinary incident for the news analysts and political pundits of the country, said Modi. This is a victory of outstanding nature as it’s a 12th victory in succession in the state’s BJP election since 1998 whether they were the elections of parliament or state legislature. Prime minister Narendra Modi was addressing hundreds of enthusiatic party workers and leaders after the dual victory of BJP in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh at the party headquarter in New Delhi. Addressing eloquently, Modi passed a taunt to his opponents saying : whether you like the BJP or not but kindly do not derail the development of the nation and the spirit of cooperative competitive federalism being promoted and carried forward by his government.

He emphatically said that infinite conspiracies and planning were made by his political opponents in Gujarat with a single desperate aim to dethrone the BJP government and belittle Modi but all in vain. He said, while every party can have their differing views and ideologies but the opposition of the country should also have the guts and morality to accept their respective defeats on the developmental plank instead of expressing their frustration through unacceptable and demoralising statements.

Though prime minister Narendra Modi had specifically said that he is not for the criticism of his opponents but he lost no opportunity in strongly criticizing Congress president Rahul Gandhi and others without mentioning their names. Extremely jubilant and hilarious Narendra Modi has confined his entire speech on developmental plank and reforms and ensured that come what may, he and his government would continue to relentlessly move forward in continuing the unabated reforms and development giving an unambiguous hint that 2019 elections would also be in his and the BJP’s favour.

Prime minister Narendra Modi especially emphasised on the middle class of the country saying that their expectations has tremendously enhanced due to the worh culture and achievements of his government on various fronts and that he and his government will leave no stone unturned to come true to their expectations. Modi repeatedly expressed his gratitude towards the electorates of Gujarat for the party’s fifth consecutive victory at the hustings and mentioned Himachal Pradesh only once in his entire speech of more than half an hour amidst tremendous applause and the chantings of Modi, Modi. It may be recalled that in Gujarat the BJP secured 99 seats and Congress 99 whereas in Himachal the former got 44 and Congress merely 21.

Extremely hated by the hindu zealots and infamous as Mulla Mulayam during the Ayodhya movement of the nineties when he ordered firing on the Hindu Kar Sewaks marching in myriad numbers towards the Babri mosque killing 28 and injuring many Samajwadi Party supremo and former chief minister UP Mulayam Singh Yadav has no remorse for issuing firing directives but says that his governmeny was committed to protecting the 16th century Babri Mosque in order to preserve the nation’s unity and integrity.
He added: I had to protect the confidence of the minorities in the country’s constititon. But finally puts the blame on the paramilitary, the central reserve security force for losing their cool after the karsewaks burnt their tents in which a trooper died. It was only after this that the CRPF got immensely furious and went berserk killing total 28 Kar sewaks with sixteen dying on the spot. He said that he had direct arguments with the former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who exaggerated the figure of dead kar sewaks to 56 instead of 28. On the 25th anniversary of Babri Masjid Mulayam Singh Yadav while speaking to media persons separately, pronounced prime minister Narendra Modi as an intelligent man and the one who can find the solution to this vexed issue if he really wishes to do so. Known for his over appeasement of minorities and tremendously revered by them, octogenerian Mulayam Singh Yadav whose samajwadi party lost to BJP in the state legislative elections just eight months ago said that he held several secretive meetings with VHP leaders and the Sunni Vaqf Board earlier and had placed a formula of construction of Ram Mandir adjacent to the disputed site pending the Apex court’s judgement thus not touching the disputed site and keeping the minorities happy as well.
He says: my suggestion was, the Hindus could built another temple later at the site if the court permits and mosque by the minorities. What’s wrong. This would satisfy all sections of the society. Though agreed by all, earlier, it could’nt finally materialise. Believing in the funal judgement of the supreme court in this context Mulayam Singh says that if an amicable out of court settlement arrives, he would welcome it. He says, he is today the most unacceptable person in the context of Babri masjid Ram temple imbroglio as neither side is prepared to listen to me. Had it been not the case I would have genuinely proceeded ahead to resolve this vexed imbroglio, adds Mulayam Singh Yadav.
It may be recalled that considered to be the most popular leader of minorities of the country Mulayam Singh Yadav came into heated controversy in the year nineteen ninety when he in his capacity of the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh ordered the firing on the myriad number of kar sewaks marching towards the Babri Masjid site killing 28 on the spot though the figure as per the VHP and BJP was 56, strongly refuted by Yadav. A CRPF jawan was also killed during this fiasco.
While he was strongly condemned by the majority community all over the globe Mulayam was hailed by the minorities in India as as well as the muslim world then for protecting the Babri Masjid at the cost of 28 killings. It was after two years when the BJP chief minister Kalyan Singh was on the power saddle in UP the Babri Masjid was demolished changing the course of history of Indian politics and converting the BJP from the strength of 2 MPs to a resounding success with AB Vajpayee becoming the prime minoster of the country with the support of the NDA partners and placing the Ram temple issue on the back burner. As the Congress party stands for secular values unstintedly so is Mulayam Singh serious about the minorities of the state and the country.
He had even once in his parliamentary speech has advocated for making of a federation of the muslim states involving Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and other muslim countries creating a furore in the parliament especially when the neighbouring country is sneaking hard core terrorists in J&K and other parts of India creating havoc by killing innocents in large numbers. The term Mulla Mulayam was allegedly given to him by his arch political detractors BJP and various hindu outfits like VHP and Bajrang Dal etc after he ordered firing on the Kar Sewaks in the nineties safeguarding the Babri Masjid and the interests of the minoritirs of the state, which Mr Singh termed as utmostly essential in view of protecting the communal fabric of the country.

The Gujarat election is becoming tumultuous and stormy day by day and despite prime minister Narendra Modi’s impressive public meetings enticing full assurance of support from majority of the electorates on Gujarat pride issue, political analysts say that the 24 year old leader Hardik Patel’s increasing anti BJP and pro Rahul and Congress campaign has to a great extent shaken and politically threatened the state’s BJP leadership.

Though there is not an inkling of doubt that various opinion polls have so far shown BJP winning the Gujarat polls, but as the election date is nearing while Nehru Gandhi scion and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Patidar leader carrying the majority support of over 12% votes of the influensive patidar community Hardik Patel, OBC leader Jignesh and Alpesh Thakor have accelerated their political campaigning and vociferous attacks on the ruling BJP including its top leadership, already facing an anti incumbency factor due to its being in power for the last 19 protracted years the enhanced tirade of the opposition seems to have visibly shaken the state ruling party leadership and it was on 12th November that an alleged morphed CD of Hardik Patel was made available to TV channels by unknown sources to defame his image.

This clearly shows how badly is the state BJP shaken and disturbed. However,  equally visibly upset was the Patidar leader then and  had to become offensive when he accused the state BJP leaders of allegedly planting a morphed sex CD showing somebody like him with a woman to pre strategically denigrate his image. Denying and outrightly rejecting the highly objectionable CD showing him with a woman in an uncompromising act Hardik had accused the BJP of intentionally doctoring it to defame his image, reputation and increasing popularity.

He added that it’s the old tactics and habit of BJP that when they become apprehensive of losing the polls they resort to such cheap and unethical practices to defame their political rivals. The BJP has however, outrightly denied. Similarly, the BJP was in a dock earliar, last month, when prior to this incident, one of Hardik’s associate Narendra Patel has presented a first instalment of wads of currency, Rs ten lakhs, in front of the media given to him by the Gujarat state BJP leaders as a bribe to join the BJP assuring 90 lakhs to be presented later on.

Patel’s exposure has really led to the defamation of the BJP when the state campainging for the election is in a full swing. As the dates of elections are nearing the poll of Gujarat has heated up to the maximum with Rahul Gandhi and his entire team holding good number of public meetings being further strengthened as well, by the anti BJP campaigning of Hardik Patel and OBC leaders’ like Jignesh.

However, the Gujarat election this time too seems to be going in favour of the BJP as political analysts say that come what may the Gujarat pride factor and the freebies delivered and assured by prime minister Narendra Modi and his government to the tune of several thousand crores pertaining to its development and jobs to the weaker sections will definitely bore fruits and help in BJP’s return for another term.

The spate of incessant development in Gujarat during and after Modi’s tenure and his every possible efforts to break into the Patidar vote bank by participating in the Narayanswamy Mutt event which comprises of maximum devotees of the patidar community compounded with giving the Gujaraties a direct flight from London to Ahmedabad and a hi speed bullet train project worth more than Rs.100 crores are some of the revolutionary developmental achievements that are bound to go in BJP’S FAVOUR.

Yes, but the Congress is bound to improve its tally this time due to Rahul’s increasing efforts and anti BJP stance of Hardik, Jignesh and Alpesh Thakur the leaders of Patidar, OBC and the dalit communities. However, whatever, may be the result of this election but one thing is definitely confirmed that despite the Congress facing defeats in several states in the recently held elections, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has always kept his moral high as a strong and dashing leader of the oldest political party of the country.

His increasing mobilisation capacity and single handedly taking on the ruling party tirades in Gujarat and Himachal despite all odds has proved beyond doubt that the Gandhi family scion is a horse of long race who believes in strugglung relentlessly even if he loses every battle. This fighting spirit of Rahul Gandhi has atleast kept the spirit of the rank and file of the party renewed with enthusiasm and potent zeal that will definitely help the party come to power again at the centre, sooner or later.

While the visit and eloquent passionate address of prime minister Narendra Modi at Kedarnath dham, also simultaneously inaugurating four new schemes for the overall face lifting and upside down development of Kedarpuri at historic Kedarnath Dham, the BJP led NDA’s immediate rival, Congress Party couldn’t digest the increasing popularity of Narendra Modi and its leaders were quick enough to call a press conference and deplore the PM’s statements on various issues mentioned by Modi in his Kedarnath speech.

While, the former chief minister of Uttarakhand who himself lost from two legislative constituencies, deplored the prime minister for having relaunched his already inaugurated schemes in Kedarnath while he was the chief minister of the state, the former union minister of state and a close confidante of Rahul Gandhi, now Congress’s spokesman RPN Singh has also accused the present BJP led government and PM Modi for misguiding the people of Uttarakhand on the development plank and RENOVATION  and refurbishment of Kedarpuri as the union government has not released a single paisa in the context of reconstruction financial package during the last three years after the dreaded ecological catastrophe of Kedarnath, Uttarakhand.

The party also levelled charges on BJP leaders and PM for showing their backs to BABA Kedar while addressing the crowds thus breaching the spiritual sanctity and insulting Lord Shiva.

Terming the prime minister’s speech as the one not based on facts and reality, the Congress spokesperson Singh said that it was primarily the United Democratic Front government under Dr. Manmohan Singh’s tenure which had allocated a whopping financial package of Rs.8000 crores out of which rupess 2200 crores were expeditiously released and development works carried out at KEDARPURI but the current government has thereafter not released a single paisa out of the remaining sanctioned amount of rupees 5800 crores during its three and a half year rule despite repeated pursuances by the then Congress government of Uttarakhand.

RPN Singh also termed the prime minister Narendra Modi’s statement regarding the then Congress led government not allowing him to carry out the renovation and reconstruction work in Kedarnath absolutely wrong and baseless as no written request or communication was acknowledged by the then either the central or the state government.

Regarding PM Modi’s claim of rescuing and sending 5000 Gujaraties safely to Gujarat from the catastrphic Kedarnath in 2013, the Congress spokesman contradicted, saying that it was not the former but the then UK CM Vijay Bahuguna and his government who deserved the actual credit. The Bhartiya Janata Party leaders of the centre or state have so far not issued a single statement clarifying or deploring the statement of former Congress CM Harish Rawat or RPN Singh.

I am a human being too and I also feel like celebrating Deepawali festival with my family and this why I am here in your midst said the prime minister while addressing the Army Jawans at Gurez Sector of LOC in Kashmir today where he stayed with them for two hours, interacting, sharing experiences of life and knowng every detail of how the armymen safeguard our difficult borders under extremely challenging circumstances.

Dressed in am Army uniform and giving an impressive look as one of them prime minister Modi while boosting the morale of our patriotic soldiers said that when he shakes hand with them, it’s not that he is doing a mere formality but in fact a new sense and spirit of confidence and energy percolates in his veins and body.

This warm and hearty gesture of prime minister taking out time from his pivotal busy schedule and being in their midst literally feeding sweets in the mouth of each soldier and posing for individual and group photograph on every Deepawali is a gesture never ever witnessed earlier say the news analysts.

While the political rulers of the neighbouring country Pakistan encourage hardened extremists like Hafeez Sayeed demoralising their soldiers the heartiest warm gesture of Indian prime minister of hugging Indian Army soldiers, feeding them with sweets and lauding their dedicated efforts and actions to safeguard our tense borders by being in their midst on every Deepawali unabiguously speaks of the fact as to how much caring and genuinely concerned is the India head of the state is for our Armymen and para troopers who are 24×7 risking their lives and countering our enemies to ensure that 135 crore Indians live a comfortable and safe lives. This is not the first time that prime minister Modi had been in the midst of our brave soldiers diring the deepawali festival.

He celebrated Deepawali with Army Jawans a Siachin glacier, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab Indo Pak border earliar and stayed with them for a pretty long time exchanging plesentaries, sweets and thus boosting their morale.

After having been elected as the prime minister of the country Narendra Modi has declared that he will always celebrate this festival of lights and symbolic of victory of the good over the evil at the nation’ s borders with the Army Jawans and the para troopers who guard our borders under extremely challenging and extraneous circumstances without caring for their lives and being away from their families during popular festivals like holi and Deepawali and lateron kept his promises intact.

He also won their hearts by implemented the long awaited demands of Armymen pertaining to one pension, though in a phased manner. This warm, healthy and the ambivalent gesture of the prime minister has won him tons of accolades amongst the countrymen. In view of the incessant hostility from across the border and continuous ceasefire violations by unrelenting Pakistan and its terrorist outfits including expansionist China’s border interventions, clandestinely eyeing on Indian territories, prime minister Modi’s initiatives of keeping the Indian Army’s moral high holds tremendous national significance which has even kept his arch political rivals tight lipped.

Prime minister Narendra Modi as every year after becoming the prime minister of the country for the last three and a half years would be celebrating the famous Hindu festival Deepawali with the Jawans of India army stationed at our borders safeguarding us and the nation and this time that’s on 19th October Narendra Modi will celebrate this festival of lights with Indian Army and paramilitary Jawans at the last border with China at Garhwal Uttarakhand at Neeti village few kilometres away from the popular n historic 1200 year old spiritual place Badrinath Dham.

Right now (in the afternoon) the Prime minister is at Gurez Sector in J n K and exchanging pleasentaries with Army Jawans with Diwali wishes. The prime minister will stay with Army n ITBP Jawan manning the Indo China border and celebrate diwali for an hour or so. He is visiting Kedarnath on 20th October to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings, this being his second Kedar visit in a row since the last year.

It may be recalled that last year the media had announced about PM Modi celebrating Diwali at Mana Gaon but the scheduled got changed at the last minute, may be due to security reasons and the former landed at Indian side of the Army camp at the Himachal Pradesh Indo China border to celebrate Deepawali with the Jawans.

It’s really very nice of the prime minister to have started this precedent to be with our dedicated and duty bound soldiers and officers of Indian Army and paramilitary forces on Diwali festival to boost their morale and confidence who miss their families on this important festival.

Prior to this the prime minister celebrated Diwali at the Jn K border where Pakistan is constantly firing on our posts and army camps repeatedly violating ceasefire agreements between both the countries. The weather at the last village of India viz Mana in District Chamoli, Garhwal remains at 2 degree celcius or even minus degree during the night when its hot in Delhi.

You might be aware that its here at Barahauti in district Chamoli that Chinese soldiers have twice breached the Indo China agreement and entered our boundary several kilometres inside after being physically asked to vacate.

The Chinese PLA also breached our air space through helicopter rides. Mana village posseses a high security related significance as its the oldest border village, an important source of moral and other kinds of support to the ITBP n Army Jawan n officers stationed there in extreme challenging circumstances and climatic conditions.
