There is nothing better than street food. The comfort and the satisfaction of biting into your favorite street chow hit differently. Every state in India has something special to offer in terms of street food. Whether we are shopping or watching a movie or just out for a date night, no day is complete without a smack of your favorite street food.  

I bring to you some of India’s favorite street food that everyone loves!

Chhole Bhature

One piping hot plate of Chhole topped with onions, coriander, lemon, and chilies seed with Garam Bhature is the way to heaven. When you tear a piece of that soft Bhature and dunk it into those heavenly Chhole, you know its nirvana. The dish hits divergent when you’re super hungry and the food is super hot.

Aloo Tikki

Deep-fried Tikkis of Aloo coming out of the oil hot and crispy. Then they are topped with assortments of different sauces and curd. The pomegranate seeds and Aloo Sev garnish give it that extra satisfying crunch. This dish is a must-try.

This is the sister dish to Delhi’s famous Chaat Paapdi. This is an amazing way to finish your meal. I usually make it my meal. But seriously, semi puffed puris with curd and tangy chutney is the way to go when it comes to street food.  

Pav Bhaji

Let’s admit it, this is that one aroma anyone can recognize anywhere. It is a mixture of veggies cooked in super aromatics. It is then topped with chopped onions, lime, and loads of butter. The soft butter toasted pav alongside is another bonus. You cannot stop even if you want to.

This south Indian street food has many names. Also known as Appe, Ponganalu, or Paniyaram, this is very famous in southern India. It is sour and round and tastes exactly like dosa.

From the streets of Indore comes the Poha-Jalebi. Jalebi and Poha are individually revered in many parts of India. But in Indore, it is just one dish. Topped with pomegranate and Sev, it makes for a good munch.

You must be very familiar with this. Mostly found in menus of all-veg restaurants, Kachori is favorite street food for all. There are many kinds of Kachoris— Daal Kachori, Pyaaz Kachori, etc. these are deep-fried and have many types of fillings. They taste delicious with the classic tamarind chutney.
