The newly emerging hope of the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi’s sister and  general secretary of All India Congress Committee Priyanka Gandhi has tweeted today lauding her brother’s initiative to resign and saying that nobody has ever,  the courage to do so.

On her twitter handle today morning Priyanka tweeted  replying to Rahul’s tweet of  yesterday while resigning from the post of party presidentship.
Few has the courage that you do@ rahulgandhi. Deepest respect for your decision.
Priyanka Gandhi has special attachment and adoration for her only brother Rahul Gandhi and she had always stood by him and her mother Sonia Gandhi in their thick and thin.
She is sort of a trouble shooter for the family and the  party who had been nursing the constituencies of her mother and brother for a long time since the assasination of her late prime minister father Rajiv Gandhi at Sriperumbudur.
A women with a fragile, noble, compenssionate and wide heart but very strong and determined, Priyanka had even granted amnesty / pardon to the diabolical killers of her father by visiting them in jail few  years ago.
When Rahul Gandhi offered his resignation in the Congress Working Committee meet , the highest decision making body of Congress, she emphatically raised her voice opposing her brother’s move saying that it’s not  her brother but the entire party leaders who are collectively responsible for the drubbing Congress faced in the 2019 elections.
She firmly stood with him at various critical junctures and even heartily accepted Rahul’s directive to become the general secretary of the party, incharge Eastern Uttar Pradesh and worked tirelessly for days together during the elections.
It’s a different matter that her effors to cut ice in Uttar Pradesh could not prove successful and the BJP won hands down.
Now since Rahul Gandhi has resigned from the top slot of the party, the senior most octogenerian leader Moti Lal Vohra, party’s former treasurer has been give the temperory responsibilty as the AICC president.
Rahul Gandhi has, after formally resigning has formed a committee of top leaders to choose a new president forthwith in a democratic manner and has also vowed to fight the divisive, reactionery and religion oriented pro Hindu BJP party tooth and nail in the future by standing behind the party as a strong pillar.
Rahul Gandhi had resigned taking the full moral responsibility in view of the party’s rout in the 2019 general elections, setting an outstanding example of probity and principles in public life but would be very much active as a strong force and leader assisting and backing the new party incumbent.
Priyanka Gandhi would also be fully mobile and active to ensure that the Congress comes to power at the centre next time.
While resigning Rahul Gandhi has also released a four page letter which was posted in his twitter handle yesterday with the tweet : It is an honour for me to serve the Congress Party, whose values and ideals have served as the life blood of our beautiful nation.
The Congress which had merely 44 seats in the Lok Sabha last time has improved its previous tally by enhancing just eight seats.
It has now 52 lok sabha members though ineligible to be the leader of the opposition, technically, as was the case post 2014.
