Will Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif pair up for ‘Sooryavanshi’?

The suspense around Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited cop franchise ‘Sooryavanshi‘ keeps rising by the day. The movie has gone on floors recently. While Shetty announced that Akshay Kumar would lead the film and hinted that Ranveer Singh-Ajay Devgn would be part of the third instalment, the filmmaker never revealed who would play its lead actress.

News reports claimed that it would be Katrina Kaif. However soon after Katrina’s name got replaced with Jacqueline Fernandez. Akshay and Jacqueline’s chemistry was the talk of the town when the two were paired as a married couple in ‘Brothers‘, which also starred Sidharth Malhotra. Meanwhile, Akshay has worked with Katrina Kaif in various films ranging from ‘Namaste London’, ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’ to ‘Welcome’, ‘De Dana Dhan’ and ‘Singh Is Kiing’.

A news report on Times Now claims that Akshay Kumar is keen to pair up with Katrina Kaif yet again. Whether Rohit Shetty has approached Katrina, if she has been roped in or has she rejected the film, is still unclear.

If Katrina does say yes to the project, life might come a full circle for her. The actress got a kickstart in her career thanks to Salman Khan. After working with the Dabangg Khan in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai‘, she bagged ‘Bharat‘, which is slated to release on Eid this year. Between these movies, she worked with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in ‘Zero‘. The trio had paired up for Yash Chopra’s last film as a director ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. Not just that, she also collaborated with Aamir Khan and Vijay Krishna Acharya for ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ post ‘Dhoom: 3‘. Apart from the Khans, Katrina was also quite popular for her films with Akshay Kumar.
