Not Sara Ali Khan’s, Saif Ali Khan to play Kartik Aaryan’s dad in Imtiaz Ali’s film?

There have been several reports making the rounds about Saif Ali Khan starring in Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming directorial which stars Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles. The movie is touted as the second instalment of Love Aaj Kal franchise and is tentatively titled Aaj Kal. However, Saif had earlier refuted reports of starring in the film when a publication quizzed him about it. But as per reports in Deccan Chronicle, the actor is indeed a part of Kartik and Sara starrer.

The portal revealed that Saif will be seen playing the role of Kartik’s onscreen father in the film. Talking about the same, a source stated, “Saif will be playing father to Kartik Aaryan. He is not playing Sara’s father because that is not a role that a star like Saif can play.” We wonder if the news is true and how will it look on the big screen to see Saif not playing Sara’s father.

A few days back, Sara wrapped the Delhi schedule of the film while Kartik is continuing with the shoot. The movie is one of the most anticipated as the cast was finalised after Sara openly announced on Koffee With Karan 6 that she has a major crush on Kartik and wants to date him.

This is the first outing of both Kartik and Sara with Imtiaz and their intense first look impressed the netizens. The much-awaited romantic flick is set to hit the screens on February 14, 2020.
