The Congress president Rahul Gandhi has accused the ruling party dispensation of being hypocrite, by inaugurating the highest statue of Sardar Patel while smashing every institution built by him, terming the action as ironical, the BJP MP and the bollywood turned politician Paresh Rawal on the other hand, retorted by saying that Congress party is disturbed because what they should have done in honour of Sardar, the Bhartiya Janata Party has done.

Paresh Rawal added that the Congress has done nothing for Sardar except betraying him and had rather exploited his name and prestige thus always belittling his image n honour.

The prime minister said the Congress party is badly disturbed but why. He asked the audience : is it a crime to honour any statesman. They why is the Congress irritated ?

Bollywood actor turned BJP MP Paresh Rawal was responding to a question of a reporter of Aaj Tak while present at the inauguration ceremony of the statue of Sardar in Gujarat today.

In his tweet castigating the ruling party govt the Congress chief Rahul Gandhi wrote: Ironic that a statue of Sardar Patel is being inaugurated , but every institution he helped build is being smashed. The systematic destruction of India’s institutions is nothing sort of treason. This tweet of Rahul evoked an encouraging response with 15.8 thousand likes, five thousand retweets and about 2100 comments.

In the morning the Congress chief while saluting Sardar pronouncing him as the great son of India tweeted: Sardar Patel was the patriot who fought for an independent, united and secular India.

A man with a steely will, tempered by compassion, he was a Congressman to the core , who had no tolerence for bigotry or communalism added Rahul. On his birth anniversary, I salute this great son of India said he.

The Congress Party is in fact disturbed by the fact that though Sardar Patel was the committed Congress leader whose entire life was dedicated to freedom struggle under the influence of the Congress party and in incessant association of father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru but the BJP and the prime minister Narendra Modi have been successful in giving the legendary leader an outstanding honour by building his highest statue in the world and in a way grabbing the entire political capital which otherwise the Congress party could have derived out of Patel’s aura and reputation.

The general elections are just eight months ahead and the saffron party is leaving no stone unturned to find issues of significance that may help it regain power in 2019. The all of a sudden eruption of the Ram Mandir construction matter to be likely to be fulfilled by the legislation route as demanded by the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and the inauguration of Sardar’s highest statue with so much of fanfate undermining the influence of Jawahar Nehru and using Mahatma Gandhi’s aura and image in the Swach Bharat mission, a flagship programme of PM Modi at the pan India level are some of the new political ingredients that may be used by the saffron party to capitalise on the Congress party’s traditional vote bank including the polarisation on the Temple issue on a wider scale.

The governments kirkiri/ mockery or failure on the Rafale jet fighter issue, demonetisation, inflation, banking frauds, encouragement to crony capitalism farmers suicides, unemployment, increasing petroleum prices n LPG etc are some of the vital points on which the Modi government has been compelled to come on the defensive, hence issues like Ram Temple, Sardar pride, etc would be used by the ruling dispensation to polarise majority community votes compounded with creating division in the possible Mahagathbandhan efforts of the non BJP opposition.

The recent exposure of the BJP led government in the CBI imbroglio has also led to denigration of its image nationally. Meanwhile the politics has geared up after the unveiling of the highest statue of Sardar Vallab bhai Patel with Congress having been highly disturbed. Retaliating to the BJP government’s move of honouring Sardar the Congress leaders have said that Sardar Patel was a committed Congress and would continue to be in future as well.
