HN Bahuguna’s centenary celebration on 25th April, to be celebrated all over India through out the year

India today needs political stalwarts’ and statesman like H. N. Bahuguna who devoted and dedicated his entire life for establishing communal harmony, amity and brother hood in the country. A revolutionery, freedom fighter and politician of eminence who was born in a tiny village of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand called Bugani, his father being a Patwari and thereafter Kanangoo preferred to ruthlessly struggle for the country’s independence than to be a ordinary person striving for survival.

He, after being highly impressed by Jawahar Lal Nehru and Lal Bahadur Shastri left his village in Pauri, Garhwal and came to Allahabad for further studies and to actively participate in freedom movement. Bahuguna ran trade unions, repaired punctured rickshaw tyres, shouted slogans against Britishers and contested Allahabad student’s union election to become its president.

He worked tirelessly, went to jail number of times, married Kamla Bahuguna became MLA, minister and then CM in UP and central minister number of times. He opposed draconion emergency, was highly instrumental in the formation of Janata Party and establishing communal harmony in the country through out his life giving up ministerial berths on principled grounds and political ethics. Bahuguna was a leader with precision on issues such as secularism, communal amity, decentralisation of socio political and economic power and wiping out tears from every eye.

In nutshel Bahuguna was a phenomenon, a legend and an ideologue who cared for minorities, backwards, down troddens and the poor. The HN Bahuguna centenary celebrations committee is celebrating his Birthday on 25th April on Wednesday at Constitution Club.

Today, we held a meeting at Kerala house New Delhi to discuss arrangements for the success of this event.

Bahuguna Centenary Celebrations would be organised all over the country in various states through out the year in order to propagate his ideals, principles and policies for a communal free secular India were peace nd tranquility could be established and all thecommunities co exist peacefully to make India stronger and cohesive . This is the basic idea behind these celebrations breaking all barriers of caste, communities, religeons and communal considerations apart from decentralised socio political and economic development of the country.

Those who actively participated in this meeting were Supreme Court Advocate ZK Faizan, Journalists Umakant Lakhera, Sunil Negi, Suresh Nautiyal, Charu Tiwari, Mahndra Mishra, Pratap Shahi, Kusum Kanwal Bhatt, Search my Child, Sushma Negi, Vinod Dhaundiyal, Atul Devrani, Madan Mohan Dhaundiyal, Pratap Shahi, Satyendra Rawat, Vimal Uniyal( Actor) and others.

Sunil Negi hails from Uttarakhand and is a veteran journalist and author. He is a prolific writer and has carved a name for himself in the media world. He received the 'Golden Achiever Award' in the '90th AIAC Excellence Awards 2019' for his book ''Havoc in Heaven'' based on the tragedy that struck Uttarakhand in which thousands of people lost their lives. He is also the President of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum and majorly writes on Politics, Current Affairs, and Social Issues.
