Sportsmen hold candlelight demonstration against Pakistan. Demand strong retaliation against Pak

India Gate, the historic monument build by the British, carrying the names of all the Indian warriors of various world wars who fought for n during the British era has always been the centre of protests against womens’ repression, oppression and issues of national concern highlighting the peoples’ plight.

After the Pulwama fidayeen attack engineered by Pak sponsored Jaish E Mohammed that martyred 41 CRPF soldiers on 14th February, while the entire nation witnessed myriad number of protest demonstrations in various states of the country, Delhi too witnessed number of protests at Jantar Mantar, outside Pakistan High Commission n at historic India Gate.

While Aaj Tak, the prominent news channel held its long debate sessions ( Live) at the India gate lawns on 19th February criticizing coward Pakistan n infusing the feeling of Patriotism amongst the Indian audience in the aftermath of the dreaded Pulwama attack, it also lighted 45 earthern lamps( Deepaks) in honour of the 45 martyrs at the live telecast site.

While the Aaj Tak debate’s live telecast was going on at the India gate lawns, the protest demonstration of General Bakshi and Indian Sports Family organised by the president of Uttarakhand Rifle Association n former Uttarakhand minister Narayan Singh Rana with the participation of shooters n other sportsmen from various states of India shouted anti Pakistan slogans hailing the brave n valiant martyrs of Pulwama, Kashmir. Holding the two banners of Indian sports family n candles these protestors marched at India Gate and expressed their anger, disenchantment anguish against Pakistan’s support to terror organisations.

They demanded death to the culprits of the despicable Pulwama attack n raised slogans asking PM Modi to delay elections and attack Pakistan forthwith to teach the enemy a befitting lesson. The protest demonstration was led by former Uttarakhand minister and president of Uttarakhand Rifle Association Narayan Singh Rana.

Narayan Singh Rana is the father of international shooter n several Gold winner in Asian n Common wealth games n grandfather of Dewanshi Rana, Jaspal’s outstanding daughter having fetched 4 golds in various national n international events.

Sunil Negi hails from Uttarakhand and is a veteran journalist and author. He is a prolific writer and has carved a name for himself in the media world. He received the 'Golden Achiever Award' in the '90th AIAC Excellence Awards 2019' for his book ''Havoc in Heaven'' based on the tragedy that struck Uttarakhand in which thousands of people lost their lives. He is also the President of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum and majorly writes on Politics, Current Affairs, and Social Issues.
