Sonakshi Sinha campaigns extensively for her mother in Lucknow

While the Bhartiya Janata Party has this time given tickets to good number of film personalities, eminent singers and cricketer like Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, Hans Raj Hans, Manoj Tiwari, Jaya Prada, Kiran Kher, Ravi Kishan and Gautam Gambhir, Babul Supriyo etc, the Samajwadi Party has made the Lucknow parliamentary election quite interesting n hot from where the party of Akhilesh Yadav has fielded one time Miss India, beautiful looking actress and wife of prominent actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha, Poonam Sinha.

The BJP’s candidate union home minister Rajnath Singh is being considered as a winning candidate being a political heavy weight as compared to politically novice Poonam Sinha and Congress party’s candidate Acharya Pramod Krishan.

However, Acharya Pramod Krishan is an impressive public orator with strong secular credentials despite being a saint.

His speeches entice tremendous crowds and his command over Urdu and hindi languages as an oratorical speaker is outstanding n exemplary.

While earlier it looked to be a clean sweep for union home minister Rajnath Singh who still has an edge over his Samajwadi party and Congress rivals but entry of Poonam Sinha has made the election quite interesting particularly after the entry of her star studded actress daughter Sonakshi Sinha and husband Shatrughan Sinha who also takes out time from his busy schedule as candidate of Congress from Patna Sahib seat and campaigns in Lucknow for his wife Poonam.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav too is giving lot of time in Lucknow to ensure Poonam’s victory which however seems to be distant dream.

However, actress Sonam Sinha’s regular presence in support of her mother has added a glamour to the political campaign in Lucknow with large number of her young fans and women joining her meetings and roadshows to have her glimpse.

What’s special about Lucknow seat is that while SP candidate Shatrughan Sinha is contesting on Congress ticket from Patna Sahib against BJP’s heavy weight Ravi Shankar Prasad, in Lucknow he has fielded his wife as the SP candidate against Congress by hobnobbing with SP who’ve completely sidelined Congress in the state.

Shatru is campaigning in support of his wife Poonam who is fighting from Lucknow against Congress’s Acharya Pramod Krishan n BJP’s Rajnath Singh.

Such a hypocritical mix had never been witnessed in any election in the past when the husband campaigns against his own party candidate in order to support his wife especially when he ( Shatru) himself is contesting on Congress ticket in another state.

The Congress candidate from Lucknow Pramod Krishnan has issued a statement asking Shatrughan Sinha to unambiguously state his ideological stand and specify as to which ideological side he is in, to which Shatrughan Sinha had no answer except to say that his is doing his PATNI DHARAM, duty towards his wife.

Lucknow being the stronghold of BJP n seat of former prime minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, it seems that union home minister Rajnath Singh holds better chances of victory. Moreover, the possible division in the anti BJP votes will also help him come out victorious in the fray despite all the star studded hulla balloo. What’s your take friends?
