The inhabitants of Uttarakhand living in Delhi having a major and decisive vote share have this time as well been completely sidelined by all the three main political parties viz BJP, Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party.

However, the fact remains that all the three political parties have the Uttarakhand cells trying to consolidate the 20 to 30 lakh or even more vote bank that literally decides the fate of candidates in Delhi elections alongwith the Poorvanchalie voters who if combined amount to tentatively 60 % vote share. East Delhi constituency comprises of maximum Uttarakhandi n Poorvanchali vote banks that play a major role in deciding the fate of political nominees of various parties.

It is believed that majority of the Pahari vote bank in Delhi has tilted in favor of BJP particularly after the demolition of Ram Temple in Ayodhya since 1992.

Previously the major chunk of Uttarakhandi vote was in the Congress party considered to be the party which has played an incredible role in the country’s independence from foreign yoke.

Leaders like very first Home minister of India Gobind Ballabh Pant followed by veteran Congressmen like H. N. Bahuguna, ND Tiwari, KC Pant etc had incited n involved Uttarakhandies into the Congress party fold.

But now the situation is just topsy turvey. Majority of the Uttarakhandies in Uttarakhand n Delhi have been fully saffronized due to hindu polarisation n post Pulwama affect including the dominant Modi factor.

The progressive n secular Uttarakhandies are however with Congress but the number has come down considerably.

Today the Bhartiya Janata Party is in historic majority in Uttarakhand with 57 MLAs n 5 elected MPs including the all powerful young Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni who is also the national media chief of the party.

But not a single candidate of Uttarakhand origin has been accomodated in the Delhi Parliamentary elections despite the hard fact that two of the Pahari BJPites Dr. Bacheti owning a DPMI ( institute in Delhi) and Arjun Singh Rana, chief of Uttaranchal Prakosht have been desperately trying their best to get the ticket from East Delhi.

But instead a new comer eminent cricketer Gambhir has been para dropped thus killing their chances. Similarly in Congress n AAP too none of the Uttarakhandi has been adjusted for a single ticket out of total seven in Delhi. This is absurd.

Even during the MLA elections not a single Uttarakhandi has been accorded ticket except one Mohan Singh Bist from BJP. In municipal corporations too hardly 2% tickets are given to the Uttarakhandi candidates which is considered to be a negligible share.

This is indeed a great insult to the people of Uttarakhand in Delhi who comprise of a thirty percent vote share.

On the contrary the candidates of Poorvanchal have been given tickets by BJP as well as Congress viz. Manoj Tiwari n Mahabal Mishra.

Now is the time that Uttarakhandi leaders of all political parties in Delhi should unite under one banner by resigning from their respective parties by giving a call to all Uttarakhandies to either boycott these polls or register their protest by pressing NOTA say various social Uttarakhandi organisations of Delhi. What’s your take friends?
