UTTARAKHANDIES COMPLETELY SIDELINED IN THE DELHI CONGRESS’S DISTRCT CONSTITUTION/ ANNOYED BADLY WITH CONGRESS

There is lot of disenchantment generating against the Congress leadership in Delhi amongst the inhabitants of Uttarakhand for sidelining them completely in the nomination of district Congress presidents nominated by the Nehru Gandhi family scion and the Congress president Rahul Gandhi as per the list of the newly appointed district presidents of the national capital territory of Delhi teleased by the party’s national general secretary and the former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot.

Though it’s undoubtedly the prerogative of the party chief to appoint people of their choice in party posts but the disenchantment or antagonism amongst the community of Uttarakhand seems to be genuine. The reason being that Delhi has a major share of the inhabitants of Uttarakhand, having contributed tremendously in strengthening the Congress party by their incessant dedication and devotion.

It is believed that about 25 to 30 lakh or even more Uttarakhandies live in Delhi and have a sizeable vote bank compared to other communities with the poorvanchali vote bank having a larger vote share.

Other communties that are alligned to Congress in good numbers are Jats, Gurjars, Punjabies, Sikhs, minorities, UPites and from Bihar etc.

The Uttarakhandies have always been sidelined in the politics of Congress complain the electorates of Uttarakhand, in the elections of municipal corporation and in the Delhi legislative and parliamentary elections.

If one goes by the previous statistics the party has not given a single ticket to the Congress candidate in the Assembly or parliamentary election nor in the municipal election confining the tickets to two or three Uttarakhandies in Corporation polls whereas the Bhartiya Janata Party has thrice given ticket to Mohan Singh Bisht from Karawal Nagar who represented the seat for three terms in succession.

The saffron party as well as the AAP has obliged more than ten candidates in the municipal elections by alloting them their party symbols respectively, many of whom had won in the corporation polls. The point is why this stepmotherly treatment with the people of Uttarakhand in Delhi by the Congress party since the last three decades.

During the tenure of Indira and Rajiv Gandhi though one Kulanand Bhartiya, an educationist did represented the Delhi’s Shakti Nagar constituency as Congress Metropolitan councillor several times and was the minister of education and the BJP had one Mr. Panwar as its MLA but it has been observed that since the last two three decades the representatives of the Uttarakhand community have been fully isolated by the Congress and partially by the BJP and AAP in the party organisation as well as in the Assembly elections  including the elections of the local bodies.

Today, not a single person is the office bearer in the state organisation of either the Congress party, the BJP and the Aam Admi Party. The community has also not been represented in the district bodies being considered as untouchable but during the elections the national and state leaders of all these three parties fully bank on the Uttarakhandi votes. Sounds shocking.

It may be recalled that the Uttarakhand’s population in Delhi had been of late demanding the formation of the Uttarakhand Academy on the lines of Maithili, Bhojpuri, Sindhi and Punjabi Academies despite they being in such a large number but of no avail.

It’s being given to understand that the Aam Admi Party in Delhi is seriously considering to fulfill this demand. If it really happens the entire vote bank of Uttarakhand in the capital is likely to shift towards the the AAP which has already intruded into the major vote bank of the Congress party in Delhi thus placing it in a distant third position.

The Congress workers n leaders in Delhi have special complaints against the leaders viz Harish Rawat, Kishore Upadhyay and Pritam Singh,  the former n present Congress chiefs of Uttarakhand that they have never promoted their community leaders in Delhi Congress though they always seek the support of the Uttarakhandies living in Delhi in the state assembly and local body elections compelling the Delhites to take leave from their respective government and private jobs and campaign for the party and the leaders at their own expense for days and months together.

Now Harish Rawat has been elevated as the general secretary and member CWC at the behest of the Congress party, let’s see if he takes this cause with the national President Rahul Gandhi or his counterpart Ashok Gehlot say these disgruntled Delhi state Congress leaders of Uttarakhand origin having been totally sidelined. What’s your take friends?

This shows that Uttarakhand has been taken for granted by Congress top leadership. Do you remember that Congress did not give much importance to state elections held last year. Their only focus was Gujarat as it is the PM hometown. This shows lack of genuine interest to develop the hilly state. Also please note that there are almost 25 Uttarakhandis holding top posts under the leadership of Narendra Modi . Being a small state UK is being neglected by INC Sunil Sir
