SUNIL GAWASKAR REFUSES TO GO TO PAKISTAN, SIDHU TOO PLEASED TO PARTICIPATE IN IMRAN’S OATH TAKING CEREMONY! DEBATES ON

Published

on

The former skipper of the Indian Cricket team Sunil Gavaskar has refused to attend the swearing in ceremony of his old friend, the former Pakistan Cricket Captain and the twenty first prime minister elect of Pakistan to be sworn in at Islamabad on 18th August.

The reason given by him was his pre occupation in the test matches as a commentator on 18th in England. Sunil Gavaskar’s denial to attend this historic swearing in of Imran Khan in Pakistan is being highly appreciated and lauded by one and all in India especially the saffron party and the present political dispensation at the centre and about twenty states of the country.

Though the reason given by the former skipper of the Indian team is quite genuine and true as Sunil Gawaskar would be in England on 18th of August due to his being the commentator in the India versus England test series starting on 18th till 22nd August political analysts say that by refusing to accept the invitation of the the Pakistan’s prime minister elect’s swearing in ceremony Gawaskar has also given a huge rebuff to the enemy country and its anti India policies thus winning the hearts of billions of Indians around the globe.

Since it was the invitation from a friend ex captain of Pakistan cricket team to the former Indian skipper on extremely personal terms, Sunil Gavaskar could have easily obliged the former by cancelling his trip to England but he did’ nt do so proving himself to be a true nationalist in the language of the saffron party that rules the country at the centre and in over twenty states of the country.

Meanwhile the former Indian batsman, MP and now minister in the Congress government of Punjab has created a furore by saying that if allowed he will be extremely pleased to attend the swearing in ceremony of the former Pakistan skipper and the PM elect Imran Khan’s swearing ceremony in Islamabad, Pakistan to usher in a new chapter offriendship between the two neighbouring countries always at loggerheads.

On being questioned by journalists about his intention to visit Pakistan after the former Indian skipper Sunil Gawaskar refused to oblige Imran Khan, Navjyot Singh Sidhu said that he would love to go to Pakistan, if permitted as this would usher in opening the doors for a renewed friendship between the warring nations who are at loggerheads for a long time. Sidhu even gave Imran Khan a certificate terming him a man of character to the utter dismay, surprise and shock of all.

There had also been reports that the Indian Ambassador to Pakistan would be presenting a cricket bat to Imran Khan as a diplomatic goodwill gesture for reopening of the friendship dialogues between both the nations who could not see each other eye to eye since long with incessant killings going on in the Indo Pak border and Kashmir at the behest of Pakistan Army and the ISI since long.

The refusal of Sunil Gavaskar and the interest of Navjyot Singh Siddhu to attend the swearing in ofTehrike Insaaf chief Imran Khan has opened serious debates in various television channels of the country with some appreciating Sidhu’s move as a purely friendly gesture while his antagonists terming it as an initiative to supportthe India’s hardened enemy nation and its prime minister.

However, the another Indian skipper Kapil Dev and Bollywood actor Amir Khan have not yet issued any statement in this context whether they intend to go to Pakistan on 18th August in Imran Khan’s swearing in ceremony or not.

It may be recalled that the Tehrike Insaf chief and former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan who had been extremely critical of India during the entire election campaign to beget votes had after scoring the victory over his immediate political rivals like PML-N and PPP has said in the media interviews that he is looking forward for the better friendly relations with neighbouring India and if India puts one step forward his government will come out with two steps forward sunce he has lots of friends in India especially in the cricketing fraternity.

He even said that the Indian media has made him the villain of Bollywoofd for no reason. But on Kashmir issue he never relented and said that its the core issue of Pakistan where human rights violations have become the order of the day. He extented four specific invitations for his swearing in to his Indian crickter friends viz. Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and Navjyot Singh Sidhu ( all cricketers) and  Bollywood actor Amir Khan.

Published

There are millions of die hard fans of Rajesh Khanna aka Kaka in India and abroad and so am I who worked as his media advisor for over a decade or so but Vipin Oberoi is a unique die hard fan of his who and who’s entire family have been in so close proximity during Kaka’s thick and thin that after the super star of the millenium Kaka’s leaving for the eternal home Vipin acknowledges the same affection and love from Dimple, her daughters and even the super star of today Akshay Khanna, late Kaka’s son in law.

Vipin Oberoi my close trusted friend and Kaka’sdie hard fan, had tremendous obsession and admiration for Kakaji since beginning but actually came in his direct and regular contact when Kaka arrived in Delhi to contest the parliamentary election from New Delhi on Congress ticket on the then prime minister Rajiv Gandhi’s insistence.

I however had joined Kaka from day one as his media advisor and met Vipin thereafter. Vipin was then a businessmen dealing with electronics gadgets like televisions and other items but was so badly involved in Kaka’s election that he has to give away that profitable business unwillingly.

He has a lovely family, with both the daughters having settled abroad after doing their law. Vipin then had no option but to start a chef cart/ van in Cannaught at Janpath that he got with Kaka’s support and blessings. It later on was shifted behind the prestigious Jesus and Merry college in Chanakyapuri, a prestigious Diplomatic Enclave.

Fully studded with Rajesh Khanna’s pictures and his superhit songs going on round the clock makes the environment in and around the vicinity fully glamorous and pleasent.

Kaka used to very often visit this chef cart called The Treat with the intent to help Vipin increase his sale. He loved and blessed Vipin Oberoi always and used to visit the place during night time after 9 till 11 or 12, sometime with Bollywood stars as well.

Kaka’s wife and a popular actress Dimple and children Twinkle and Rinki if in Delhi also casually visit the place and bless Vipin who’d been in Kaka’s close proximity for more than three decades, taking care of his eating requirements and other things whenever the star turned MP used to be in Delhi.

Vipin travelled with Kaka in several political campaignings as well in Delhi and other parts of the country. I myself had also visited the van, the Treat number of times and met Kaka there and had dinner with him who fortunately always held me in high esteem.

The Treat prepares fantastic and delicious non veg items consumed by good number of customers and Kaka’s fan who visit the place every alternate days with family and friends from various nooks and corners of Delhi. Vipin Oberoi alongwith Kaka’s colleagues and fans in Delhi every year celebrate and remember this great legend by organising a Bhandara and prayer meeting at the venue of THE TREAT in Chanakyapuri.

The treat is the best address for individuals and family goers for dinner non vegetarian n vegetarian delicacies where Kaka used to usually dine while he was alive.

RAHUL’S WINKING AND HUGGING THE PM SURPRISE ONE AND ALL

Published

on

In a rare gesture of decency, political flexibility and outstanding diplomacy the Congress president Rahul Gandhi to the utter surprise and shock of prime minister Narendra Modi went to the latter’s front row seat at the treasury benches in the Lok Sabha and hugged him in front of cameras’ making the prime minister stunned for a moment.

Another picture of his blinking his eyes after the speech has also become viral in the social networking sites like facebook, twitter and whatsapp reminding everyone of the South Indian actress who too became globally popular for her eye blinking style.

This rare and decent gesture of Congress president Rahul Gandhi after finishing his aggressive, fiery and to some extent a humorous speech levelling several serious charges of favoritism to the ultra rich and not caring for the poor and controvertial Rafael deal against Modi has infact established a healthy trend of morality and ambivalent gesture in the parliamentary history of the country though in the past too leaders like Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya and Jawahar Lal Nehru etc despite being one another’s arch political rivals used to talk, hug, and dine together.

But since the last two, three decades this trend of mutual trust, amity and brotherhood was missing to a great extent.

After Rahul went to the prime minister’s seat and expressed his gratitude stunned Modi shook hands with Rahul after a generous hug to the surprise and shock of one and all.

The entire television channels of the country are exhibiting this picture as a rare display of humanity and parliamentary decency with Congress and BJP leaders busy in tweets making it more humorous from their own ideological points of view.

In one of the tweets Tejaswi Uadav, Laloo’s son and leader of Janata Dal had loaded a picture of Rahul winking in parliament tweeting : Oh that wink my friend, Hit them (BJP) hard where it hurts. Congratulations for unearthing their mines of lies. Fantastic speech.

Another Rahul fan tweets: Our leader #RahulGandhi is an inherently decent person. Hugs the PM though we are on opposite sides. PM Modi says sabka saath but can’t embrace those lynched by mobs inspired by RSS-BJP politics. #NoConfidenceMotion.

Similarly Indian Express tweets : By coming back to his seat Rahul Gandhi emphasised that by his act of embracing prime minister Narendra Modi he wanted to show the difference between the ideology of the Congress and the BJP.

Zindagi ke safar mein guzar jaate hain jo mukaam, vo phir nahi aate! Today is Kaka’s 6th death anniversary

Published

on

Today is the sixth death anniversary of an original super star of India film industry, Bollywood, Rajesh Khanna aka Kakaji, a superstar par excellence, an actor incomparable, an outstanding phenomena, a king of histrionics and a large hearted decent human being who on this day left for his eternal home leaving his billions of followers and fans in grief.

Rajesh Khanna the acting and style legend is earnestly born once in a century who leave his indelible mark on everybody’s mind and heart for years and years to come.

Though Kaka is not with us physically today but his super duper hit films, his mesmerising acting, stylish appearence and songs still entertain crores of his fans worldwide.

As Sachin Tendulkar is a God of Indian cricket so is Kaka is to his fans around the globe.

Born in Amritsar and adopted by the near relative Kaka hailed from a business family who outstandingly qualified himself in first position amongst the 10000 competetors in an artist talent hunt competetion in Mumbai during the seventies, never to look back thereafter.

Starting as a debut hero from Akhiri Khat or Akhiri Rasta, am not pretty sure, handsome with an outstanding God gifted personality originally Jatin Khanna, Kaka gave 15 super duper hits in a row from 1969 to 1974 followed by his other movies establishing a record of sorts in the Mumbai film industry.

He in all acted in about 225 films and was such a popular hero of his time that college girls used to kiss his ampala car in abundance, marry him in dreams n real life and wrote letters with their own blood.

Some of his movies like Amar Prem, Hathi Mere Sathi, Amar Prem, Anand, Safar, Avishkar, Kati Patang, Aan Milo Sajna, Dushman, Aap Ki Kasam, Roti, Prem Kahani etc etc impressed his fans tremendously thus leaving an impressive mark on their minds and hearts.

After Anand and Namak Haram Kaka’s downslide started coming with a ferocious speed.

He joined active politics on the personal request of the then prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and became the member of parliament from New Delhi, first having been defeated by the BJP stalwart L. K. Advani by merely 15000 votes and then winning against actor Shatrughan Sinha with a handsome margin from New Delhi.

Kaka dated two actresses during his life time, one Anju Mahendru before marriage and Tina Munim after marriage with whom he also acted in ALAG ALAG, his home production.

Though Kaka led a magnificient life of a super star during his hey days but was a lonely man at the last lap of his life shuttling between Delhi’s Sarvpriya Vihar residence and Ashirvaad in Mumbai.

He had special liking for ASHIRVAD, his magnificient bunglow facing the sea at Carter Road. His fans used to wait for a single glimpse of his, outside his house in Mumbai for hours together, such was his towering aura and ambience and when the girls used to see his Ampala they kissed it thinking that they have kissed the super star.

Kaka was a great fan of Rajiv Gandhi and Rajiv was his, which very few people know.

He purchased Ashirvaad Bunglow from the veteran actor Rajendra Kumar, then famous as jubilee kumar as his every film used to be a hit then.

Kaka signed Hathi Mere Sathi and asked the South Indian producer to give him an advance payment. He received Rs. five lakhs then as an advance payment which he gave to Rajendra Kumar for Ashirvaad which was then named as Dimple.

Rajendra kumar considered this house as inauspicious as his down fall started from here while for Kaka, Ashirvaad was too lucky.

Kakaji developed strained relations with Dimple Kapadia as he was against her working in films which she objected to.

Though Dimple Kapadia served Kaka during his last days while he was ill, Kaka named his will of property and entire wealth in the name of her both the daughters Twinkle and Rinki with not a single pie to Dimple, his legally wedded life.

Kaka was highly desirous and it was his long cherished dream to make ASHIRVAAD his museum but fate has something else stored for the future. Since the last controvertial women who lived with Kaka during the last leg of his life Anita Gidwani had claimed a part of the Ashirvaad for having been with the star in his thick and thin, Akshay Kumar and Dimple sold the house to the builders to keep themselves free from the impending controversy n dispute.

Kaka, might definitely been weeping in heaven for his Bangalows destruction which he wanted to be his museum.

My heartfelt rich tributes to this towering superstar of his time with the pray to God that his pious soul rests in peace for ever.

Had Tom been alive he would have been of 68 years by now ! Heartfelt Tributes

Published

on

Tom Alter was one of the best and most celebrated actors’ of Bollywood having outstandingly acted in multifarious roles during his career spanning more than four decades in over 350 films.

A versatile actor, par excellence, born on 22nd June 1950 in Mussourie, Garhwal, Uttarakhand, today is Tom Alter’s 68th Birth Anniversary. Had Tom been Alive today he would have been 68 years old. Left for his eternal home just last year on 27th September 2017 having uncurable skin cancer in Mumbai, leaving his huge fan following in anguish, Tom was an exceptional actor having tremendous knowlege of Urdu, hindi and english apart from Garhwali.

It really sounds different and surprising that a man born to the english parents though in India, having the American past, is so extraordinarily well versed in Urdu, Hindi and even a local Garhwali dialect apart from English which was his DNA Tom considered himself to be an Indian than an individual with an English or American background.

An actor par excellence having been highly influenced and inspired by the then Super Star of the seventies after having watched his super duper hit film thrice or five times Tom Alter who usually watched English Hollywood movies, finally gave up teaching at the age of 19 and left for Pune to seek addmission in prestigious FTII where he studied acting under his teacher one Mr. Taneja alongwith Nasruddin Shah, Benjamin Gilani etc and got his first role in Bollywood silver screen in 1972 never to look back again.

A die hard fan of the legendary super star Tom Alter’s grand parents were missioneries who came to Lahore in 1920 from Ohio, US and after partition in 1947, while his grand parents stayed back in Pakistan, his parents migrated to India.

Tom’s father who was highly academic taught English and literateur at Allahabad after first settling at Saharanpur and then at Rajpur Road Dehradun.

At the age of mere 19 his father arranged a job of a teacher for Tom in Jagadhari, Yamuna Nagar, Haryana where he taught English at St Mary school.

He was born in Mussourie where he studied till higher secondary and went to one of the best American universities YALE for higher studies.

But destiny had something else stored for him in India and he came back to Mussourie just after a year to join as a teacher in Jagadhiri, Haryana which opened doors of his Bollywood entry, after he watched ARADHANA THRICE having been highly influenced by KAKA’S outstanding histrionics.

As a Kaka fan himself Tom Alter has worked with the Superstar in 3 films NAUKRI 1978; KUDRAT 1981 & JAANWAR 1983 … A die-hard Rajesh Khanna fan,Tom said in a interview-“The first morning of the shoot of Naukri, in Bangalore, I have been told to report in the lobby of the Ashoka Hotel by 9 in the morning. I was there by 8:45. I stood at the entrance, looking out on the gardens.” Rajesh Khanna descended the stairs,& walked up to me, crinkled his eyes,& said “Mujhe Rajesh Khanna kahte hain.” I went with him in the car to the park which was our location, & at lunch time I took my food into a corner under a tree,He came up to me & asked “Tum film on mein kyon aaye?”…The answer came from my heart – “Aap ki wajah se”..As simple as that, as true as that.!!!!!!!!

In the interview Tom shared how he used to come all the way from Mussoorie to catch up with first day first show of RK films at Regal Cinema in Connaught Place. “We saw Anand, Dushman and Amar Prem by buying tickets in black for the first day first show,” he laughs ..“After I had watched Aradhana several times I decided to get into films. It was the era of Rajesh Khanna. I decided that I wanted to be a part of this magical world of Hindi films and got admitted in FTII & graduated in 1974.” “I still dream of being Rajesh Khanna. For me, no film in Hindi cinema comes close to Anand. In the early 1970s, He was the only hero — romantic to the core, not larger than life, so Indian and real — He was my hero; the reason I came into films and He still is.” Tom concluded

A famous cricketeer during his school days in Mussourie, Tom never had the slightest of an idea that he would ever be an actor par excellence in the future and that too of Hindi silver screen having no interest whatsoever, to watch hindi movies, earlier. He was the first person to have interviewed cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar at a mere age of 16 when he made his first debut century.

Tom’s parents were extremely God fearing who’d established an Ashram at Rajpura Road to help the poor, under privileged and the needy. His entire family including his mother, father , uncle, grandfather were missioneries and served the church but were great secularists as was Tom. Even his elder brother became father in a Church at the age of 70 but Tom Alter was an exception who had special penchant for acting after having been overtly influenced by the histrionics of the super star of the seventies Rajesh Khanna aka KAKA.

Considering himself to be the most luckiest man to have born and lived in the heaven on earth Mussourie Tom Alter initially got the roles of the Englishman in Hindi films due to his fair colour and personality but later on did all kinds of roles.

Senior to the most popular actor Nasirruddin Shah in FTII Pune, Tom Alter played the unique role of Dr. Abdul Kalam in a Rajya Sabha TV serial and the roles of Gandhi, Nehru, Sahil ludhianvi, n other prominent freedom fighters etc in number of popular theatre plays.

A multifaceted and multi dimensional legendary icon Tom spoke Urdu with such a great fluency and precision that no other actor in Bollywood would have such a perfection. Having acted in over 350 films and scores of pivotal roles in Indian theatre in such a short span of four and a half decades as compared to other actors Tom Alter was a real asset for the Indian Film Industry.

His passing away from our midst at such normal age of merely 67 years when he still looked so young, energetic and enthusiatic towards acting his untimely loss will be felt forever not only in the film fraternity but also in the entire Indian fraternity amongst the billions of his fans who loved and adored him so infinitely and beyond limits. good bye Tom. Your creative acting and humanism will guide your unlimited fans forever. AMEN.
