It is now obviously clear that the Delhi Metro which once used to be pro people and people friendly has now become anti people and an organisation to mint exorbitant profits by intruding into the pockets of 80 percent of the commuters hailing from lower strata and the middle class of the society. It’s amply clear now that its no more for the peoples’ convenience n welfare but for earning handsome profits out of the already disturbed and worried middle and lower middle class of Delhi. Just imagine an organisation which is already running into excessive profits ferrying to and fro about 27 lakh commuters who are private employees, government servants, petty workers, small and medium businessman, traders, students and the labour class has now after doubling the metro fares in just six months created havoc with the lives of Delhi commuters by disturbing their already squeezed budget. Just imagine the maximum fare which was Rs. 30 few months ago has been arbitrarily escalated to Rs. sixty and every slab also almost doubled. Was it for this, we vote political parties to impose huge monetary penalties on us and instead of making our lives comfortable make them cumbersome and in quandary to survive. The prices of the petroleum products have already been skyrocketted despite the international prices of the crude being cheap. The inflation is touching skies. Growth rate falling down. This is actually like paying penalties for the default not committed by us. What sounds more bothering is the fact that if the METRO is already running into profits( and if running in losses should be subsidised as its a public transport) and the Delhi government is unwilling for the metro fare increase, perhaps ready to partially bear the losses if any what warranted the Delhi Metro to harras and victimise three million commuters travelling on daily basis. Despite this if the underprivileged and economically deprived sections of the society goes for an alternative cheaper mode of transport like DTC one will be surprised and shocked to learn that there are hardly buses on DELHI roads except very few. Majority of the DELHI TRANSPORT CORPORATION BUSES are off the roads and may take one hour or more to wait for the buses of particular destination. The CMD of DELHI METRO CORPORATION Mangu Singh should give a rethinking to his arbitrary and anti poor decision and immediately withdraw the exorbitant n unjustifiable fares’ hike. This unjustifiable hike has definitely broken the backbone of majority of the commuters?

These pictures are of the inner sections of OPD almost completely devoid of patients of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh a brand new gigantic hospital at par with the standards of AIIMS, New Delhi constructed just a few years ago, though an autonomous medical institution, but under the jurisdiction of the Union ministry of Health, government of India. The pics have been sent to me by a friend of mine, a social activist n scribe Anurag Dhaundiyal with a request to share them but I thought to write on it. As per the information send to me on whatapp Anurag like other responsible citizens is badly concerned about the sorry state of affairs of this prestigious hospital AIIMS which by now could have treated hundreds of patients at reasonable, rather on freeship basis than giving such a pathetic lonely look, entirely devoid of patients due to the lackalustre and complacent attitude of the administration and the senior bosses. What makes the situation and reputation of this institute more worse and anti poor is the fact that AIIMS RISHIKESH having come into existence with the sole motive of providing free and on expenditure within the reach of a common and under privileged patients has now quadrupled the rates of surgeries, beyond the reach of the local patients and almost at par with the private hospitals. The message from Mr. Anurag says: Today I visited AIIMS, Rishikesh for someone’s addmision and was shocked to see the full ward premises completely empty. Last night most of the patients had left the wards when they noticed that the Director of this AIIMS has increased the price of its procedures by more than 200%. Previously the surgeries which used to be free are now costing at par with the private hospitals. Anurag Dhaundiyal said that he was shocked to see several patients who can’t afford these exorbitant rates of surgeries were constrained to leave the hospital without getting themselves treated. Is this the objective of AIIMS Rishikesh for which it has been established after spending millions of rupees, questions furious and disturbed Anurag. He further writes: The institute is known to provide high-end medication to people who are below poverty line, senior citizens who are retired and people who can only afford government medical institutes, I am here attaching the empty ward pics and am really shocked and devastated to see what our govt is doing in his matter. He asks: Is it that only the prise tags of AIIMS, Rishikesh has been revised and not of any other place? We have been told by the doctors that they are themselves not aware of these changes. They have been told to implement these new rates from now onwards. The doctors said that they are not in favour to ask exorbitant prices from the poor patients. And may soon go on strike protesting against these arbitrary and exorbitant rates of treatments.
This is really shocking as the primary objective of opening AIIMS is various parts of the country including Rishikesh, Uttarakhand is to help provide free and cheap treatments to the people of the poor and lower middle strata of the state and also in order to reduce the influx at AIIMS DELHI which is already over filled with patients from all around the country including (from) abroad. The AIIMS Rishikesh was sanctioned during the BJP led NDA rule while Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister. Today, Uttarakhand is bereft of good government hospitals and as a result, the majority of the patients either pay heavily to private hospitals at Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital or Almora or go to Delhi for surgeries and treatment of critical illnesses. The patients belonging to the under privileged and weaker sections of the society have no option but to be at the mercy of these ill equipped government hospitals having no provision of surgeries of critical illnesses like cardiac complications etc. The political VIPs and government employees are empanelled with hi tech private hospitals n have not problems as such. Only the poor and the under privileged suffer. The rich and the affluent go to Delhi. The Fortis and Max are therefore earning handsomely due to the pitiable conditions of government hospitals in the entire Uttarakhand and the governments don’t give any heed in this regard. The point is what’s the use of spending hundreds of crores on AIIMS RISHIKESH if it’s of no use for the poor, economically deprived and marginally classes of the state of Uttarakhand.

Shocking incidents of arbitrary and illegal selling of Kidneys of the poor in the country has become the order of the day.

Patients with acute kidney problems, needing healthy  kidney transplant, usually come to India from abroad and even rich and affluent Indian patients, with huge financial packages, lure the poor people through kidney racketeers and agents and get themselves treated, which is not legally permitted in their own countries, especially in view of the non-availability of kidney donors. In Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Kolkata and other metropolises of country several high profile kidney rackets involving crores of rupees have been busted by the police authorities with shocking revelations of several high profile doctors, surgeon and hospital authorities of some reputed hospitals, caught under the legal net and send to jails with heavy financial penalties.

These kidney racketeers and organized gangs have also made the rag pickers, poverty stricken drug addicts and the illiterates, their easy prey by retrieving or extracting their kidneys at just pea nut value after intoxicating them with drinks laced with drugs or injecting the drugs into their veins or after amicable settlements exploiting their abject poverty. Just three months ago on 27th May, 2017 the Delhi police has busted a massive kidney racket with high profile connections in which a women with four other accomplices were caught and sentenced to rigorous punishment. Last year in Gujarat too such a high profile kidney racket was busted with international connections.

We have been hearing of these kidney rackets in the metropolises of the country till yet but now the state of Uttarakhand symbolized as the land of abode of Gods is also the victim of such shabby and immoral business in the name of charity. In a shocking revelation the Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun, Nivedita Kukreti has in a press conference disclosed about treacherous Kidney racket illegally functioning in Gangotri Charitable hospital, Rishikesh. The proprietor of the hospital and the doctors were involved in this unlawful kidney racket. This kidney racket was internationally connected.

Shame on the management of this private hospital in the name of a charitable institution, which has literally shamed and defamed the noble profession of medical science. No such high profile illegal act of clandestine kidney racketeering involving unaccounted monetary profits can be conducted without the blessings and support of political allegiance. Such high profit minting illegal professions can’t succeed without the alleged patronage of the politicians, muscle men, and the mafias. Such private clinics and hospitals under the garb of exhibiting high profile reputation (not all) manipulate the innocent poor and economically deprived inhabitants of the Uttarakhand hills and befool them to sell their kidneys in extreme cheaper rates to further transplant them in rich patients who pay them handsomely in order to save their precious lives at the cost of the poor donors who are lawfully not supposed to donate their KIDNEY. The SSP of Uttarakhand police and the entire team deserves to be complimented for this noble act and dedication to expose this high profile Kidney racket. It may be recalled that in 2008 a high profile globally connected multi million rupee kidney racket was busted with its tentacles spread over several reputed hospitals of India.

The proprietor surgeon is in Tihar Jail undergoing a sentence of life. In 2016 another largely connected Delhi’s reputed Batra Hospital kidney racket hit the newspaper headlines of the country followed by several other such rackets. The illegal Kidney racket is a flourishing racket in India being a highly profitable business with a single kidney fetching 10 to 15 lakhs or even more in several cases. The poor slum dwellers and people in abject poverty in distant villages of the country are the usual prey who are the soft targets of the professional kidney rackets.
