While the Bhartiya Janata Party has scored a fifth consecutive victory in Gujarat election securing 99 seats feeling highly elated and jubilant, its triumph is not being taken as an extremely impressive one as was being expected particularly in view of the hectic campaigning of prime minister Narendra Modi in his home turf and BJP’s traditional bastion where it’s in power for the last 22 protracted years.

The BJP has minussed its seventeen seats in this election whereas the Congress has added 19 seats into its tally with the three (others) also on its side. This election has outrightly contradicted the pre election over confident claim of acknowledging 150 seats in BJP’s favour by its president Amit Shah. While this election has enhanced 1.2 % vote share of the BJP, the Congress’s vote share has enhanced by 2.5 percent, just the double of the former. Though the decrease in 17 seats of the BJP in Gujarat election has send a message across that despite victory the BJP’s popularity graph is diminishing steadily it also reflects that Congress is gaining ground in Gujarat and therefore may subsequently gear up nationally in 2019 if it really improves organisationally at the state and national level.

The BJP has won in majority of the urban areas but lost in the rural areas meaning that people in majority of the rural areas are gradually becoming disenchanted with the ruling BJ and its agrarian policies. But above all, the BJP’s victory even after ruling for twenty long years, abruptly killing the anti incumbency factor, unambiguously speaks of the fact that Modi magic is still relevant in Gujarat, his home turf and that his charisma is equally still intact nationally as well keeping in view the incessant winning spree of BJP after Modi’s becoming the prime minister since 2014 with 19 states in its la. Had the prime minister Narendra Modi not held 7 public meetings during the last leg of the Gujarat elections, the BJP would have suffered badly say the political analysts.

The BJP’s victory in these two states have also made one thing absolutely clear that the controvertial issues of demonetisation and GST couldn’t have any adverse affect or impact on its winning chances as not only has the party received two thirds majority in Himachal Pradesh but has also won in majority of the urban areas in Gujarat where lives the business community. However, the victory of 4 Congress lawmakers in Somnath temple vicinity and the BJP candidate losing in prime minister Modi’s home seat Vadnagar to the Congress lawmaker do send the worrying signals for the BJP. It’s really the time for self introspection for both the Congress and BJP as 2019 elections are significant for both the parties in which the prestige of both Modi and Rahul is involved. What’s your take friends?

The most controvertial Magnum opus directed by the controvertial directer Sanjay Leela Bhansali having been banned in two states viz Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat where the government of BJP prevails, is all set for release in Britain as the British Board of Film Classification has given the film a go ahead and sources reveal that the date of release might be 1st of December, 2017.

The movie was slated for an all India release on 1st of December earlier but due to the enhanced controversy, media hype and threats of dire consequences to the director as well as the actors of the historical film the schedule of release was with held infinitely, as of now. The film made with the humongous budget of 180 crores is in controversy since the beginning as the Karni Sena headed by the the direct decendent of legendary Padmavat family, as claimed by him, Lokendra Singh Kalvi raised serious objections and organised protests all over the country including Rajasthan and Gujarat compounded with a press conference at the Press Club of India.

The matter became worse when some leaders of the Rajput Community in Haryana and other parts of the country issued fatwas of granting 10 crores to the one who would behead the director of the film sending shock waves all around. While there are charges and counter charges by the Karni Sena and various Rajput outfits and the makers of the film outrightly denying, putting the legendary Rajput queen in poor light, the protestors are hardly to relent saying that they will not agree in less than the movie going into dustbin. The director of the movie Bhansali has recently arranged the show for some selected senior journalists and writers and the editor in chief of India TV Rajat Sharma and veteran journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik openly came out in favour of the movie claiming that if the Karni Sena Chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi and those opposing the movie would see it for themselves, not only would they heartily embrace the Director of the film for showing Rani Padmavati in high esteem showing the bravery and valour of the Rajput queen Padmavati and Rattan Singh in correct perspective but for also highlighting Allauddin Khiljee as the brutal killer and a king with sexual lust.

There is nothing, not even the minutest of disrespect to the legendary queen as being propagated by the Karni Sena chief and other Rajput organisations. Despite all this what makes things worse and worrisome is the fact that whosoever is opposing the film have not seen it and are expressing their opposition on mere assumptions. They should have first watched the film for themselves and then arrive at the conclusion as to what exactly should be their future course of action instead of resorting to recourse for national protests and dire arbitrary threats of life to its makers and actors.

Sounds shocking that the issue is being politicised out of proportion and given a caste colour as elections in Gujarat are scheduled for next months and few other states are to go for election next year. The Rajput votes which is in abundance in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, its chief ministers have already banned the movie in two states and seems to be banned in other states as well.

Now, states like Uttarakhand are also witnessing such protests and the organisations like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also come into lime light sending clear signals that the issue has adopted religious and communal proportions. It is saddening to note that the state chief ministers instead of dealing with the maintenance of law and order situation seem to be more concerned in patronising the protestors and becoming judges themselves to decide the fate of the movie.

If it is so then what’s the relevance of the Central Board of Film Certification headed by Punya Prasoon Joshi an eminent literateur and film maker and his advisory council. It would have been in the fitness of the things, had the the organisors of the protest demonstrations demanding ban on the controvertial film would have first seen the movie for themselves or requested the CBFC to check the antecedents of the film and decide its future or destiny than to resort to such nation wide protests.

History has various interpretations and making of the film if plays with facts to hurt the sentiments of the community should definitely be banned. But one should first practically see it with his or her own eyes before arriving at any decision. However there are some historians who even say that legendary Queen Padmavati never existed. What do you say friends?

All bottlenecks have finally been cleared for the much awaited supreme post of the 131 year old Congress Party for the Gandhi family scion Rahul Gandhi, that freed India from the colonial cluches of the imperialist British. The timing for the crowning has been chosen at a time when elections to the Gujarat Assembly are on the peak that involves the prestige of prime minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi equally. However, the Nehru Gandhi’s crowning as the party president will have any positive impact on the results of this much hyped election is still to be seen after the polling on 9th and 14th December respectively. Rahul’s much awaited elevation to the top most slot of the Congress Party that ruled the nation for more than six decades is significant because the entire CWC, the largest decision making body has cleared his name for his election as nobody else in the party seems to have the political guts to challenge his leadership by contesting against him.

There is every possibility of the Congress Vice President becoming the party chief on 5th December. Since joining the active politics after her mother Sonia Gandhi’s deteriorating health condition Rahul Gandhi has travelled a long distance fighting all odds within and outside party by some of his detractors though nobody came to the fore to oppose his leadership except the non heavy weights like Gufran Azam the former MP of Congress who opposed his leadership openly finally having been expelled from the party. Dynastic politics of Congress confined to the Nehru Gandhi family has always been the main election plank of the anti Congress opposition parties mainly the BJP apart from corruption which helped them return to power but minus Nehru Gandhi family members the Congress party holds no significance as right from the pre independence day from Moti Lal Nehru great grand father of Rahul Gandhi to Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru to Indira Gandhi to Rajiv Gandhi to Sonia and now Rahul himself the Congress has ruled this nation for sixty protracted years sending a clear message that despite tons of criticism and opposition to the dynastic character of Nehru Gandhi family, the people of the country has by and large voted for them and primarily this factor has never produced any leadership alternative that could challenge this inheritence, within the Congress party. It is only because of this continuing political inheritence that the Congressmen and the rank and file of this 131 year old party have finally compromised to follow them undisputedly. And Rahul Gandhi despite so much of political incompetence as compared to prime minister Narendra Modi in popularity, oratorical skills and other positive factors, with no immediate hope of becoming the national political alternative is widely accepted in the party as their undisputed leader. On Rahul Gandhi’s elevation as party president which will be formally finalised on 5th December, the Congress’s arch rival BJP got the golden opportunity to widely oppose his crowning by charging allegations of dynastic perpetuation thus making ridule of the democracy.

In their statements criticizing the Congress’s move to crown Rahul Gandhi as the party president the BJP leaders say that while in their party a block or booth level ordinary grass root worker can become the national office bearer or the party president even a prime minister of the largest democracy of the world, in Congress except the scion or members of the Nehru Gandhi family can be the only one for whom the top slot of the 131 old party is reserved even if they don’t deserve it. Nobody in the Congress, either have the guts to challenge them nor are they given opportunity to reach the top slot. Is it not the open defiance or like ridiculing the democratic traditions of the country ask these BJP leaders. It may be recalled that after the tenure of PV Narsimha Rao when the Congress Party acknowledged the majority Sonia Gandhi refused the post of prime ministership despite her being the unanimous choice and the former Governor of RBI and fr finance minister in Narsimha Rao government was crowned as the proxy prime minister. Since then Rahul Gandhi activated himself in the party affairs. Had he desired, he could have conveniently been the prime minister by replacing Dr. Manmohan Singh after few years or could have joined his cabinet as one of the powerful minister but Rahul being modest always preferred to learn politics and involved himself in strengthening the party organisation as well as the frontal units like Sewa Dal, NSUI n Mahila Congress before reaching the top slot either in the party orthe government.

Rahul campaigned extensively in all the states’ and national elections all over India and established one to one interaction with the peoole in the rural areas of the country. When Dr. Manmohan Singh’s government was ruling the nation Rahul Gandhi was greatly instrumental in the enactment of Laws related to land reforms and land bill giving farmers their due for the land acquired by the government for industrialisation or contruction activities. He also gave relief to the farmers of the country by waving off the farm loans to the tune of about 70000 crores during the Congress led UPA government. He went to Dalit houses and had meals there to impress the dalits of the country and even did SHRAM DAAN by working with labourers in various projects, of course symbollically. He was also instrumental in the introduction of MNREGA during the UPA rule that gave employment to millions of the poor nationally, at least three months in a year. Though Rahul’s efforts as the national campaigner of the Congress party has not yeilded any fruitful results, after Congress losing several states at the hands of the BJP which is now ruling in over eighteen states, his actions, energy, potentiality and special knack as a leader on the move have always kept the party leaders, workers and youths encouraged.

Over the past months Rahul Gandhi has shouldered the responsibility of being the chief campaigner, exhibiting a special confidence in his oratorical skills in public meetings as well as in the social media that has put the national leaders of BJP in a position of unease. The Congress party has not seen any election to the post of its national president since the last 17 years when in 2000 the then deviated Congress leader Jitendra Prasada contested against the then Congress president Sonia Gandhi. This time it seems Rahul Gandhi’s election would be unanimous and on 5th December he will take charge as the Congress president with his mother as a chief patron of the party to bless him and the 131 year old party.

HAVING seen spate of defeats at the hands of the ruling BJP under the influence of Modi charisma right from Assam to Uttarakhand and confronting being on a sort of brink of disaster situation the Nehru Gandhi scion and the likely president of the oldest party of the country that ruled Inda for 60 years or more, Rahul Gandhi does not want to take any further risk in Gujarat and therefore is ready to compromise on any formula and with any political force with any preconditions that can pose a direct and formidable challenge to the ruling BJP led NDA and its chief prime minister Narendra Modi and his cohorts.

The desperate efforts of Congress party under Rahul’s wishes and instructions to bring into Congress’s fold the popular leader of the patidar community Hardik Patel ( the community that constitutes 14% votes ) and give them the assurance of complete reservation if their party comes to power in Gujarat and thereafter in Delhi in 2019 unambiguously speaks of the fact that the Congress Party is either openly befooling the patidar community of Gujarat or Hardik Patel and the community itself is deliberately prepared to be misguided on this count as it has no option but to oppose the BJP in the state.

The crux of the matter is both the Congress as well as the Patidar leader Hardik Patel are well aware that reservation to Patidars is not constitutionally affordable even if they come to power because while as per the constitutional obligation reservation in any state of the country can’t exceed the limit of 49% and Gujarat has already fulfilled that limit.

Moreover if by chance the Congress comes to power in the state and even after getting it passed from the state assembly if it is send to the parliament to get it ratified by both the houses, will the BJP and NDA pass it? The answer is an obvious no. Now the Congress has a logic and it has also assured the patidar leader that even if the centre does not pass it, the Congress will implement it in 2019 after assuming power at the centre.

Now again, its a hypocritical answer as how can the Congress be so sure that they are likely to come to power in 2019 ? The point is how can both these parties, the Congress and Patidars’ leader Hardik misguide the entire community? But this is true as Hardik Patel and Congress are now in a fix and they have no option but to stand united to fight BJP relentlessly. The patidars are furious against BJP as they think it has betrayed and befooled them during the last 19 years and did nothing for their welfare but always sought their overwhelming support to enjoy power.

They are also deadly against the ruling party for bringing anti small business men act the GST and badly lathicharged and injured the patidar protestors demanding reservations in jobs. The patidar leader also question the dubious anti patidar community intentions of the state and centrally ruled BJP led NDA governments saying that had they been serious and committed about reservation to patidar in jobs they could have get it passed in Assembly and then sent to parliament for ratification from both houses, to be finally signed by the president who has also been elected at their behest.

By intentionally ignoring our community and physically thrashing us and our leader Hardik Patel lacing him with umpteen serious cases the BJP has committed a grave sin for which it will have to suffer badly. We and Congress will fight it out of the state adds Hardik.
