First 1TB SD card launched

For the first time SanDisk has done something unbelievable by introducing the first 1TB SD card. I know that we have been using SD cards up to 128 GB and for TB space HD is needed. SanDisk has announced that they have built World’s first 1TB SD card. This announcement was made in Cologne during a trade show.

This is not the first time that SanDisk has done something amazing as in 2014 it launched 512GB pro SD card and first 64 MB card almost 16 years back.

The company officials told that 1TB SDXC card is still in the initial stage and they are working on prototype and so far releasing date is not announced. The price of this 1TB is also not told at this moment and i think that it is not going to be cheap because remember when 512GB card was launched the price was too high Rs 23,000.

Vice President of product management, Dinesh Bahal said that 16 years back they introduced the first SanDisk 64MB SD card and now they are enabling capacities of 1TB in SD cards. Over the years their goal has remained the same; continue to innovate and set the pace for the imaging industry. He further said that the SanDisk 1TB SD card prototype represents another significant achievement as growth of high resolution content and capacity- intensive application such as virtual reality, video surveillance and 360 video, are progressing at astounding rates.

This is really a good innovation which is very much needed at this time as more and more people are indulging in recording of high quality videos and images, especially photographers and videographers who are always hungry for space in their photo shooting devices and wants more and more space in the SD card.
