The Congress president Rahul Gandhi is likely to address a public meeting at the Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun on 16th March where he will also be closetted with the state party leaders, lawmakers as well as the key party workers.

This meeting of Rahul Gandhi is significant in the state capital in view of the fast approaching general elections especially when Bhartiya Janata Party is trying to allegedly take the maximum miliege out of the air strikes on terror camps in Pakistan as an avenge to the most tragic n deadliest Pulwama attack in which 45 CRPF troopers were martyred.

According to some political analysts majority of the countrymen are lauding the dynamic efforts of prime minister Narendra Modi in rightfully avenging the Pulwama attack masterminded by JEM, by strongly n immediately destroying the terror camps of Jaish in Balakot followed by the destruction of Pak’s F 16 n ensuring the safe return of the MIG 21 fighter pilot Abhinandan to India.

In Uttarakhand one member in every third family serves in Indian Army and large number of Armymen from Uttarakhand had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty safeguarding our motherland n its porous borders.

Moreover, there have been reports that the current government of BJP in the state have been inaugurating good number of schemes n people centric projects in Uttarakhand despite the state running in heavy losses with a deficit budget of more than 45 thousand crores.

There have been intercine squabbles in the state party unit of Congress in Uttarakhand with the former chief minister n AICC general secretary Harish Rawat and the present Congress chief Pritam Singh representing their own groups trying to sideline each other.

However, as per the political trend of results in Uttarakhand for the last 19 years since the state came into separate existence there have always been change of parties after every election, meaning that if this time there is the govt of BJP, it’s almost for sure that next time it would be the turn of Congress n vice versa. Sumilarly it’s the same in the results of parliamentary elections.

If one goes by this formula the chances of Congress party’s victory in the five lok sabha elections seem to be imminent this time as well. But despite all this, the way the Bhartiya Janata Party is trying to exploit the aftermath of Pulwama attack in its favour by nationalising the situation by infusing the feeling of nationalism in the mind of every countrymen as also charged by the anti BJP opposition parties it looks that in Uttarakhand, the Congress party is not very much confident of staging victory in the five parliamentary seats of Uttarakhand.

Currently all the five seats of Uttarakhand are being represented by the BJP. It may be recalled that prime minister Narendra Modi n the state chief minister Amit Shah had visited Dehradun good number of times earlier and held number of largely attended public meetings in which the prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rs 14000 crore over ambitious Chardham Yatra project including announcement of several other schemes such as inviting heavy investment proposals worth Rs. 80000 crores etc in the state compounded with construction of lakhs of toilets, Ujjwala free gas connections n Ayushman Bharat schemes.

The Gujarat industrialist Adani also visited Uttarakhand n met the chief minister Rawat assuring for heavy investments in the Himalatan state. There have been immense resentment in Uttarakhand in the context of the Char Dham Yatra project which resulted in the uprooting of over 80 thousand green trees thus adversely affecting the environment and ecology of the Himalayan state and construction of massive Pancheshwar dam which are already in the acute siesmic zone.

Moreover, the introduction of mobile vans liquor delievery service in the interiors of Uttarakhand by the current government to earn the annual 2000 crore profit to narrow down its fiscal deficit as claimed by the CM n state BJP leaders have also made the position of the state government in quandary inviting the peoples’ wrath. There had been spate of accidental n leopard attack deaths in the state with the education n health sector badly suffering including women safety at stake with broad day light murders of women on the rise.

But despite all this, the recent anti Pakistan stance of the BJP led NDA government compounded with successful air strikes n the safe early return of wing commander Abhinandan with the entire media coming to the ruling party’s rescue make things difficult for the Congress party in the country as well as in Uttarakhand.

Therefore Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s likely visit n speech on 16th March at Dehradun will definitely help in not only boosting the morale of the Congress party in the state suffering from factionalism between Harish Rawat n Pritam Singh camps thus reviving the defunct state Congress organisation but will also help in making the Uttarakhand’s majority of the Modi n saffron oriented electorates to learn the hard facts of deciet n betrayel let loose by BJP n also re- energising the party workets to the core.
