Throwing constitutional norms to winds, the Bhartiya Janata Party is repeating the same manipulations to form its government in Karnataka on the lines of Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya where despite being in minority it formed the governments by allegedly engineering defections.

The ruling Bhartiya Janata Party leaders on the instruction of the prime minister are encouraging defections by trying to purchase the Congress MLAs by offering them several crores of Rupees including ministeral berths to join BJP and help in forming its government. This is higly condemnable. These are the serious accusations and charges levelled by the Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Karnataka CM Sidharamaih and HD Kumaraswamy, Leader Janata Dal against the prime minister Narendra Modi and the BJP high command.

The Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala has termed it a black letter day in the history of constitutional norms by calling the party to form the government which is in abject minority and against the established constitutional norms. The governor Vaju Bhai Vala has not only literally thrown the constitutional norms to winds but has also thrown demcratic norms and legal conventions into dustbin.

He is not functioning as an impartial and judcious representative of the Constitution but as a committed and dedicated party worker in adulation hell bent upon obliging it by all means illegally, immorally and unconstitutionally added furious and angered Congress spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala.

The Congress and BJP has come in the direct collision course after Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala arbitrarily invited BJP n its leader Y S Yedurappa for swearing in at 9.30 A. M. on 17th May at the Governors house further giving him six days time to prove the majority despite being in unambiguous minority with just 104 MLAs whereas the Congress JD (S) combined had already given the letter of suport of 117 MLAs to the governor even assuring of physically parading the law makers in front of him.

Congress spokesman Surjewala was extremely categorical is saying that in past cases the Supreme Court has very specifically said that after the elections if any post poll alliance meets an understanding and presents the majority before the governor, he or she is bound to call such arrangement to form the government firs than the single largest party lacking majority to form the government.

Even in the case pertaining to the post poll alliance of the BJP in Goa with Maharashtra Gomantak Party and an other political outfit where the former arbitrarily formed the government, the Apex court has ruled in favor of the BJP government which also engineered defection despite the Congress being the single largest majority oriented party at the first instance. Similar was the case in Manipur where it had the largest strength of 28 MLAs.

Moreover, in the case of Karnataka the Congress J D ( S) alliance has transparently submitted a duly signed list f 117 MLAs and has also given written assurance for physically parading the MLAs in front of him, if required so but they were’nt called first but instead the single largest party with abject minority has been called, not for proving the first hand majority but the swearing in of its leader Y. S. Yedurrappa despite the hard fact that the whole world knows that the BJP is 9 MLAs’ short of majority where as the Congress JD ( S) alliance full of credible majority of 117 MLAs. Isn’t it an open murder of democracy questioned eloquent Surjewala while addressing the press conference at the Congress Party headquarter in New Delhi this evening.

It may be recalled that prior to being sworn in as the governor of Karnataka, Vaju bhai had been the speaker of Gujarat Vidhan Sabha, finance minister for a long tenure, BJP MLA from Rajkot for several terms and two time Gujarat BJP President. What’s your take friends?
