Dalbir Singh who played the role of Ravana sacrificed his life while saving others

Dalbir Singh, who played the character of Ravana got crushed under the train while saving others

Nobody really knows what lies ahead in ones’ life as fate is totally unpredictable . The most tragic train tragedy at Amritsar near the Joda Phaatak yesterday killing sixty innocents and grievously injuring more than fifty, have proved this fact as they had never imagined that just after few seconds of their enjoying the festive Vijaydashmi event watching the burning Ravana effigy and making vedio in their mobiles would die gruesomely.

The unfortunate incident occured at 7.15 PM also witnessed the killing of the one of the artists Dalbir Singh who actually played the role of Ravana in this Ramleela and also enacted his role just before the burning of the effigies of Ravana, Meghanath and Kumbhkarna.

While Ravan Dhahan programme was likely to start Dalbir Singh also came in the audience to watch the effigy burning after enacting his role. But when he saw a train in speed approaching near the people standing and sitting on the tracks he came rushing, shouting to them to be aware.

Dalbir pushed several people on the other side of the railway track but unfortunately his own leg got stuck in the track and he also came under the train and got mowed down.

Dalbir Singh as others never ever thought that he will meet such a tragic end. Dalbir was actually waiting for being felicitated after the effigy burning but fate had his tragic death stored for him.

As per the latest news artist Dalbir Singh’s wife and a two year old child and his family members were also in the function watching his role. His highly anguished and grief stricken wife said that she had done the entire make up of her husband.

Though Dalbir played the role of Ravana, a symbol of evil, in real life he sacrificed his life to save others.

Meanwhile after the Railway ministry has shrugged off its responsibility from this tragic episode the union Railway minister Piyush Goyal who is in the United States and who had just yesterday announced of his returning back to India in view of this tragedy is no more coming back now but has continued his US stay, negligibly concerned about the tragedy.

The state minister of Railways Manoj Mishra has denied that the Railways has received any information from the Punjab administration about the event. He said had the Railways acknowleged the information it would definitely had made necessary arrangements to avoid the accident. He flatly refused to admit that the Railway department was at all at fault therefore asked what’s the need for an enquiry? Sinha abruptly said trains are meant to run on speed n since the Railways have nothing to do with the teagedy since its not at any fault or had’nt committed any lapse enquiry is not warranted. He advised the media not to exploit this sensitive issue for vested interests and exercise restraints to give it the political colour and overtones.

Similarly, the chairman of the Railway Board Ashwani Lohani has also denied the fault of the Railways saying that railway lines are not meant to sit, loiter around or walk on them. He expressed his heartfelt condolenses to the families of the deceased and said that its indeed a worst tragedy that should not have happened.

Meanwhile the political blame game between the BJP, Congress and Akali Dal has ensued and nobody is ready to take the responsibility for the collosal tragedy. The chief minister Captain Amrinder Singh who’d visited the accident site has however ordered an enquiry into the episode by the Commision the report of which is expected within four days. Shameful indeed.

Congress organised an event in an anauthorised place. No permission of ground was taken. Police permission was not taken. Railways not informed. According to videos Navjot’s wife knew about people standing on railway tracks and they cheered about it and ignored it completely. How could she proceed knowing the risks involved. Clearly Congress choose to be in limelight rather than safety for the people. This is murder by Congress partymen. Rahul Gandhi is answerable. Why has he gone back stage in his Congress ruled state ?
Feel really sorry for the man who gave up his life to save people. May his soul rest in peace

India seeks to buy 24 anti-submarine helicopters MH-60 ‘Romeo’ from US

India has sought from the US 24 multi-role MH-60 ‘Romeo’ anti-submarine helicopters for its Navy at an estimated cost of US $2 billion, defence industry sources here said Friday.

India has been in need of these formidable anti-submarine hunter helicopters for more than a decade now.

The deal is expected to be finalised in a few months, informed sources told PTI, days after US Vice President Mike Pence held a successful meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Singapore on the sidelines of a regional summit.

India has sent a letter of request to the US for an “urgent requirement” of 24 multi-role helicopters MH 60 Romeo Seahawk, sources said.

In recent months, there has been acceleration in defence ties between the two countries, with the Trump administration opening up America’s high-tech military hardware for India’s defence needs.

Bilateral defence relationship was on top of the agenda of the Modi-Pence meeting in Singapore on Wednesday.

The meeting is likely to be followed by a summit-level bilateral between Prime Minister Modi and US President Donald Trump in Argentina on the sidelines of the G-20 meeting on November 30 and December 1. Neither side has confirmed the meeting yet.

According to sources, the MH-60 Romeo deal is expected to have an offset requirement. Sources indicated that India plans to follow up this urgent requirement with a long-term plan to manufacture 123 of these helicopters in India.

Currently deployed with the US Navy as the primary anti-submarine warfare anti-surface weapon system for open ocean and littoral zones, Lockheed Martin’s MH-60R Seahawk helicopter is considered the world’s most advanced maritime helicopter.

According to industry experts, it is the most capable naval helicopter available today designed to operate from frigates, destroyers, cruisers and aircraft carriers. MH-60 Romeo Seahawks would add lethal capabilities of the Indian Navy, which experts say is the need of the hour given the aggressive behavior of China in the Indian Ocean region.

Lockheed over the years has emerged as a major American supplier of state-of-the-art defence military equipment.

“With this Seahawk deal the overall US-India defense trade will surpass USD 20 billion,” an industry source said.

“The pipeline of opportunities for US defense firms can result in another USD 5 billion of sales in the next few years,” the source added.

According to US Naval Air System Command, the MH-60R Seahawk missions are anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, surveillance, communications relay, combat search and rescue, naval gunfire support and logistics support.

As the Navy’s next generation submarine hunter and anti-surface warfare helicopter, the MH-60R Seahawk is considered to be the cornerstone of the Navy’s Helicopter Concept of Operations.

The MH-60R and its mission systems have replaced the US naval fleet’s legacy SH-60B and SH-60F aircraft.

PM Narendra Modi To Inaugurate KMP Expressway On November 19

To ease traffic flow through the national capital, the much awaited Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway is all set to be inaugurated on November 19. The announcement has been made by Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and it will be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Manohar Lal Khattar who reviewed the KMP Expressway project and the arrangements regarding the Prime Minister’s visit to Sultanpur village in Gurugram on November 19 said, “The prime minister will address a public meeting near Farukhnagar crossing in Gurgaon, where he would dedicate various projects to the people of the state. All the preparations are done for the inauguration,”

“Apart from the expressway, he will also inaugurate the Ballabhgarh Metro Link, lay foundation stone of Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University in Palwal and various other development projects on the same day,” Khattar added.

Talking about the expressway, it will connect four major national highways (NH), NH-1 (Delhi-Ambala-Amritsar), NH-2 (Delhi-Agra-Varanasi-Dankuni), NH-8 (Delhi-Jaipur-Ahmedabad-Mumbai) and NH-10 (Delhi-Hisar-Fazilka-Indo-Pak border), as it passes through five districts in Haryana namely Sonipat, Jhajjar, Gurgaon, Mewat, and Palwal.

The expressway will also significantly reduce the traffic from north Indian states to central, western and south India and vice versa. Also, it will provide an alternative route to vehicles, especially heavy ones to go towards Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan without creating traffic vows in the national capital.

Recently, the Haryana Government has also given its approval for the development of five new cities along Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway. These cities will be developed in an area of 50,000 hectares on each side of the 135 km long expressway and will cover eight districts of the state — Sonipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Rewari, Mewat, Faridabad, and Palwal.

Hapless martyr’s family in financial jeopardy. Has not received a single pie as compensation since last three months ?

Mother of late Rajesh Punia holding her sons pic, late Puniya's brother with social activist Santosh Dahiya, broken door of Puniya's dilaphidated house

It really disheartens one and all when the traumatic and highly grief stricken poor and hapless families of our valiant soldiers who lay down their precious lives in the service of the nation protecting our porous borders and fighting the enemy at the LOC and strife torn J& K with valour are made to suffer for of adequate financial compensation that is officially due to them including government job to the next of the kin of the families of the deceased.

Hundreds of young jawans and officers of Indian Army and security forces fighting against all odds and highly challenging situations in Jammu and Kashmir and along the Line of Actual Control fight the Pak rangers and the hardcore terrorists hell bent upon destabilising our system killing innocents n armymen and sacrifice themselves with valour.

The entire nation salutes them because its only due to their 24×7 vigilance and alert duties against all odds, at the LOC that 125 crore Indians are safe and sound but when it comes to government’s alleged apathy towards the already traumatic and anguished families who run from pillar to posts seeking justice and adequate financial compensation actually due to them officially they get no justice n compelled to resign at their fate.

The fact of the matter is that majority of those martyred young jawans belong to extremely poor family backgrounds and after their sad demise the family loses the single earning member who was the sole bread earner for the entire grif stricken family.

The pathetic story of one such young jawan of the India Army namely Rajesh Punia of village Ladwa was yesterday posted by a social activist of Haryana namely Santosh Dahiya who recorded the family’s anguished story in her live facebook time line.

Rajesh Puniya was hardly 26 or so and was on the line of duty at the LOC in J&K. About three months ago his decapitated body was found while fighting the terrorists/ Pak rangers at the LOC valiantly.

After his sad demise the ministers of Haryana government, the local MLA Krishna Kumar and several high ups in the government visited his house and assured the grief stricken poor and hapless family of all possible help including Rs. 50 lakhs as financial compensation, a job to his elder brother and construction of a park with a budget of Rs 80 lakhs in the nearby vicinity in the name of Martyr Rajesh Puniya.

But after the lapse of more than three months not a single rupee has arrived at the Martyrs anguished family’s gouse. The father of late Rajesh Puniya who is usually in bad health whom his late son had assured of the best private treatment if he comes back alive, was also assured by the minister concerned of best possible treatment in the private hospital, but all in vain.

Late Rajesh Puniya was the only earning member of the family. The family lives in village Ladwa, Haryana in a dilapidated house with shattered entry door and uncemented brick walls with animals and the family living together in a pitiable civic n financial condition.

According to the social activist Santosh Dahiya, when they approached the Commissioner at Kaithal they were told that the enquiry is still in progress and may take time. She questions: if such is the ignorant, pathetic and complacent attitude of the ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats towards the martyrs of our country who die for the nation in the line of duty then the government has not right to exist.

She says: its shocking and ironical that these politicians visit the houses of martyrs and give false promises but when it comes to fulfilling them they vanish out of the scene and this is shockingly what’s happening with the traumatic poor and hapless family of martyr Rajesh Puniya of Laadwa, Haryana. Shameful indeed.

It may be recalled that about 450 jawans of Indian Army and security forces have laid down their precious lives in J&K n LOC during the last four and a half years and about 530 jawans n officers (approximately) were martyred during the Kargil war of 1999 called Operation Vijay. We salute them all for their glorious sacrifices. The government had then devised a policy of adequately compensating the martrs famiky and also alloting them a petrol pump. Can’t the same criteria be now followed and the poor and hapless families be allotted petrol pumps for their survival.
What’s your take friends?

India, US to increase engagement in oil, energy sector

India and the US Wednesday pledged to further strengthen economic cooperation and increase engagement in the oil and energy sector with a view to boost bilateral trade.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US Vice President Mike Pence had “productive discussions on all aspects of global strategic partnership based on growing convergence of interests on regional and global issues” on the sidelines of East Asia Summit here, Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Raveesh Kumar said.

Later briefing reporters, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said it was a “very good” meeting.

The two sides had brief discussion on trade-related matters.

In a statement, Pence’s office said he encouraged “free, fair, and reciprocal trade with India.” “We agreed that in a new relationship we are building with the US where trade is expanding, we need to find ways in which we can help that process to take place,” Gokhale said.

The prime minister said that in the last 2 years – since President Donald Trump has assumed office – American exports to India have grown 50 per cent and it is perhaps the only one of the top 10 countries with which the US has a trade deficit, and the deficit has actually reduced last year and is on course to further reduce this year, Gokhale said.

“There was a lot of discussions on energy. This is a new sector in Indo-US relations. We have begun importing oil and gas from the US worth about USD 4 billion this year. We expressed our readiness to import more oil and gas from the US as a way of expanding our trade,” he said.

The defence sector was another area of cooperation between the two sides.

“Both sides agreed that there had been a substantial enhancement in our defence relationship, in our imports of equipment from the US, but the prime minister in particular stressed that there was a great opportunity for the US in India in making defence equipment and setting up defence industry in India.

“Not only that India is a substantial market but because the way we are placed regionally we can become a hub for exports to the rest of the region,” Gokhale said.

Modi said when Indians come to the US, they not only bring their talent and capacity to innovate, capacity to excel but also they are imbued with democratic values. “And in that context the Prime Minister expressed hope that this would be the approach that US might take when it looks at the whole issue of the H-1B visa,” Gokhale said.

Pence acknowledged that India had made substantial progress economically as well as diplomatically in regional and international affairs, Gokhale said.

Pence felt that India is a positive factor in regional and international relations and said the US looks forward to working with India on various issues to ensure that “we have a fair rules-based international order”.

India-US bilateral trade was USD 74.5 billion in 2017-18, up from USD 64.5 billion in the previous year.

BJP changing names almost every day but not accepting proposal to rename West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed the Centre on Wednesday for allegedly dragging its feet in clearing a proposal to rename West Bengal to ‘Bangla’, which was unanimously passed by the state assembly in July.Banerjee said the BJP has been changing names of historical places and institutions unilaterally “almost every day” to suit its “interests” but when it comes to Bengal, the attitude is totally different.

On July 26, the assembly passed a resolution unanimously to change the name of the state to “Bangla” in the three most-spoken languages Bengali, Hindi and English and sent the proposal to the Union Home Ministry.Banerjee’s government had proposed to rename the state on three earlier occasions.

It suggested “Paschimbanga” in 2011, which was turned down by the Centre. In 2016, it proposed “Bengal” in English, “Bangla” in Bengali and “Bangal” in Hindi, which too was turned down. Finally, it proposed the name ‘Bangla’ in July this year.

“It is pending there (with the Home Ministry) for a long, long time,” Banerjee said in a statement.

“After Independence, there have been changes in the name of a few states and cities, like Orissa to Odisha, Pondicherry to Puducherry, Madras to Chennai, Bombay to Mumbai, Bangalore to Bengaluru etc, keeping in view the sentiments of the state and local language. Those are genuine,” she said.

The West Bengal Assembly had passed a resolution to change the name of the state on the basis of local sentiments related to “our mother tongue, Bangla”, she added.

“The Union Home Ministry advised us to use the name Bangla in all three languages. Accordingly, our assembly passed a unanimous resolution to change the name of the state to ‘Bangla’ in all three languages and sent it to the Union Home Ministry again,” she said.

On reservations from some quarters that Bangla would sound very similar to Bangladesh, she said names should not create a hurdle as “there is a Punjab in our neighbouring country as well as in India”.

Criticising the BJP, she said a political party with “zero strength” in the state cannot decide on changing the name of that state.

The proposal to change the name was made only after a resolution was passed unanimously by the state assembly in accordance with the constitutional obligations and federal structure, which should be respected, she said.

“The people of Bengal must get a positive response immediately,” Banerjee said.

Later, she told a Bengali news channel that they (Modi government) are ‘bulldozing federal structure’ of the country.

They are not following the constitution. They are doing whatever they like. This cannot go on. What we have done (suggesting a name change), we have done it constitutionally,” she said.

Monkey Menace: 14 day old snatched from a lactating mother and brutally killed by a monkey in Agra

The terror of monkeys all over India, particularly in the religious places like Mathura, Vrindavan, Agra etc in Uttar Pradesh, in Rajasthan and Uttrakhand is increasing day by day and even the hospitals and VIP areas are not free of the monkey attacks.

In Uttarakhand monkeys have entered every village and house and are incessantly damaging agricultural produce. These monkeys in various religious spots, temples and tourist places snatch the belongings and the foodstuff of the visitors and on resistence even injure them grievously. There have been hundreds of instances of monkey attacks in the above mentioned states and foreign visitors n tourists too had been their incessant victims.

In Agra today a fourteen day old infant has been snatched by a monkey from a lactating mother from inside the house and was later on found killed after having been brutally injured. The news have sent terror wave all around the Runawat village of Arga where good number of people have already been injured due to increasing monkey attacks.

There have been no remedial action whatsoever from the administration’s side who are least bothered or interested to catch these dreaded monkeys who are on an attacking spree. According to news pouring in, the family and the mother of the 14 day old infant killed are badly terrorised and grief stricken due to the tragedy and foresee more such brutal monkey attacks in the future.

The expeditious multiplication of the monkey population in all the states of the country is a matter of great concern. Even the former president of India Dr. Pranav Mukerjee was not spared by these notorious monkeys when on one of his visits as president of India his spects were also snatched by these monkeys in Mathura despite so much of security.

Uttarakhand is the worst victim of monkey attacks who are literally entering houses in the villages and suburban cities n towns and creating havoc by destroying crops and injuring residents particularly children. Uttarakhand being the jungle state dominated by 73 % of trees the monkeys caught in hordes by the department’s concerned release them here thus allowing them to create havoc in this himalayan state.

It is high time that the concerned governmental agencies should expedite efforts to catch these troubling monkeys and keep them away from public places.

Rahul says, what he commits, fulfills ! can contact anybody in Punjab and Karnataka and ask about our fulfilment of pre election pledges, we have waived off all kisan loans !

Rahul addressing the election rally at Kabirdham, Chattisgarh

As the dates of the elections are nearing the political parties are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the electorates are enticed by their populist measures n large promises.

Both BJP and Congress parties are trying to take the lead in convincing the voters to vote for them and get everything at the cheapest rates including KARZA MAAFI, loan waivers and handsome support prices for their produce. The Congress which is in the opposition in Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for the last several years did not want to take any risk of losing the election this time.

Hence its menifestoes are full of concessions for farmers and the weaker sections of the society. Addressing a well attended public meeting in Kabirdham, Chattisgarh today as a sequel to several meetings addressed earlier, highly over confident Congress chief Rahul Gandhi assured the audienve especially the women and the farming community of maximum support prices on their produce and loan waivers just within ten days of his government coming to power in the state.

Rahul Gandhi said like Dassault chief Eric Tappier I never lie, what ever I commit I fulfill my election promises. I commit that while the support prices for sugarcane would be 2500 per quintal, the rates of electricity would be just half and the farmers would be relieved of all the bank loans within 10 days of his government coming to power.

Speaking eloquently and assuring the farmers of the state about implementing the land acquisition act in the state Rahul Gandhi said that the farmers whose land would be acquired for projects or factories would get the 4 times more of the prevailing market rates in.the condition of completion of the factories or projects on the acquired land within the stipulated time of five years and incase the needful is not done the farmer would get back the ownership title again.

He was addressing the Congress rally at Kabirdham, Chattisgarh in support of the two contesting MLA candidates. In order to substantiate his honesty in fulfilling the pre election promises Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said if you have any doubt you can just phone anybody living in Punjab and Karnataka and ask if the Congress governments there had fulfilled my pre election commitments of loan waivers of farmers or not.

And you will get the reply in affirmation. I never tell a lie n stand to my commitment said Rahul Gandhi whilehe castgated the BJP led NDA government of remitting the loans worth of more than three lakh crores of fifteen top industriakists of the country but could’nt waive off the poor farmers loans.
