The AAP government in Delhi led by chief minister Arvind Kejrival who is usually at loggerheads with the union BJP led NDA government is taking one by one credible decisions in order to impress the Delhi electorates, particularly those hailing from the lower middle class and lowest strata of the society. After failing to establish its sufficient political ground outside Delhi except to a certain extent in Punjab Kejrival has now confined himself to Delhi and is busy concentrating on Delhi affairs in order to consolidate the party’s influence in the capital especially in view of the next assembly election drawing near. Just today the Delhi health minister has taken an extremely pro people decision announcing that the state’s cabinet has approved with unanimity that any person in Delhi meeting with vehicular accident if injured grievously or with any nature of injury would be accorded free treatment in majority of the private hospitals of Delhi and the entire expenditure of the treatment would be borne by the Delhi government.

The cabinet decision has also made a provision for giving Rs 2000 to those who help the accident victim reach the hospital in time in order to save his or her life. According to the health minister Satyendra Jain , the state government has finalised official arrangements with majority of Delhi government hospitals who will provide timely and adequate treatment to the accident victim and would ensure that their lives could be saved subsequently. The necessary charges in this respect would be borne by the state government. The approval of the state cabinet chaired by chief minister Delhi Arvind Kejrival has been sent to the Lt governor of Delhi Anil Baijal for final stamping. This pro people decision would go a long way to anticipate the full support of the Delhi electorates as it is not restricted to any particular class or section based on income disparity but is applicable unequivocally for all the victims of accidents across gender and economic considerations.

Prior to this the Delhi government has declared a scheme for free treatment/ surgery in private hospitals for those whose income is below 2 lac rupees per annum and are not being able to get operated in government hospitals due to heavy rush and paucity of time, keeping in view the severity of the ailment of critical illness and urgency for surgery. In addition it had opened Mohalla clinics in vast numbers and also made massive arrangements for free distribution of medicines to all patients irrespective of economic disparity. Just two days ago the state government has cancelled the license of the MAX hospital situated at Shalimar Bagh for its negligence in declaring a living child infant as dead and its complacent and arbitrary attitude towards the poor patients. It also had a tussle with union government as well as the lt governor of Delhi over the regularisation of the services of over 15000 adhoc and contractual teachers of Delhi whom.the government of Kejrival want to regularise and had also got the bill passed in the state assembly but is still lying postponed at the LG’s level.

Arvind Kejrival also came to the rescue of the Delhites when his party and the government outrightly rejected the union government’s arbitrary proposal to increase the metro fares manifold and offered to bear the fifty percent escalated cost to the tune of 750 crores but could not succeed and finally the Delhi metro commuters have to bear the brunt of the centre and are constrained to pay exorbitantly. Let’ s see , the nominee of the BJP led union government Delhi’s LG Anil Baijal clears the AAP government’s pro people proposal or keeps it in abeyance or withheld as is the case with the earlier proposal of regularisation of the services of 15000 contractual teachers of Delhi. The governments of the other states of the country should take cue from the Delhi AAP government and replicate this pro people decision in their states as well.As per the latest statistics of Delhi traffic police accidents in Delhi are on the rise and the Delhi police is finding out innovative techniques to counter this menace of accidents with renewed vigour and vitality.

The majority of the accident victims either die on the spot, on the way to hospitals or for want of timely and better treatment which usually is not available in government hospitals due to variety of reasons and lack of attention and this latest decison of the government of NCT of Delhi will work as a catalyst in increasing the safety of the accident victims due to timely and adequate treatment in high profile private hospitals. What’s your take on this, friends?

Women and girls most vulnerable in Delhi/ 19 year old tortured and raped for 10 days repeatedly, Shame!

Women and girls most vulnerable in Delhi/ 19 year old tortured and raped for 10 days repeatedly, Shame!

Delhi seems to have become the rape capital as shameful cases of rapes, molestations of girls and women are on the rapid increase in the capital of India with majority of the rape survivors being the victim of the close accquaintances or the near and dear ones.

What is more shocking and anguishing is the fact that the minors, incests and the adolocents are the majority targets at the hands of rapists below eighteen years thus going scot free under the guise of being non adult or minor thus given them handle to commit more crimes in the near future.

A recent case of one such rape survivor has come to light today after the shocking news appearing in various dailies of the capital though the shocking incident of incessant physical torture and subsequent repeated rape of the nighteen year old girl was reported in facebook a day or two earlier, having gone viral alongwith pictures of injury marks over her body .

According to the police the victim was confined in a room by the rapist with whom she was in relationship for a year or so and repeatedly raped after being physically tortured for ten days and tied with the rope.

However badly battered, she anyhow managed to free herself on the tenth day and reached her house. The incident is of Aman Vihar, Delhi and the culprit is absconding with the police questioning the family members of the absconder rapist.

The police is investigating the matter from all angles as the family had not lodged the missing complaint to the police, despite their daughter being mysteriously away for ten days. This horrifying incident has shattered the confidence of the Delhites towards the police and the law enforcing agencies of the capital where obnoxious and shameful incidents of crime against women are on the repeated rise.

According to a report published in HT daily today the total cases of crime against women registered in Delhi were 13000 in 2017 and 2900 till March 2018 which included 487 rapes, 722 molestations, 153 cases of sexual harrasment, 913 kidnappings and abductions and 623 other nature of cases.

After the national and global outrage in the case related to the gruesome gang rape and brutal murder of Nirbhaya of Delhi in a moving bus in Vasant Vihar in 2013, several fast track courts to deal with cases of rapes with possible modifications in laws to make them more stringent were implemented but despite all this the crime rate against women is still on the rise.

This is highly disheartening and a severe blot on our society. The heart rendering and shocking cases of the gang rape and heinous murder of the 8 year old Kathua girl and an eighteen year girl of Unnao in UP allegedly at the behest of the BJP MLA have also outraged the right thinking people and the vulnerable women community of the country.

But what makes the situation more worse is the fact that the political parties of the country instead of dealing with this horrible menace more credibly and earnestly to arrive at a unanimous resolution to give it a complete stop mingle in shabby tactics of communalising the issue to derive political advantage to garner votes.

Time has really arrived when all the poltical parties of the country including those at the helm of political dispensation should come together across ideological lines on one platform and device concrete and credible solutions to put an end to such gruesome incidents which are unfortunately on the uncontrollable rise and affecting the polity of the country. What’s your take friends?

Rahul, Priyanka, Vadra stage midnight candle light protest at India Gate against Kathua gang rape and horrendous murder of Asifa

While the shameful gangrape and the most brutal murder of an eight year old girl Asifa hailing from the muslim Bakkerwal community of Kathua, Kashmir is making the breaking news in all the TV channels and headlines in newspapers, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi alongwith sister Priyanka and brother in law Robert Vadra today midnight staged a candle light procession from the party headquarter 24 Akbar Road to India Gate holding candles in their hands and expressing their outrage over the BJP – PDP government headed by Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu and Kashmir.

Hundreds of Rahul’s followers and Congress party workers with national leaders viz Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ahmed Patel, Hooda, Sanjay Nirupam etc marched alongwith Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi holding candles and playcards denouncing the Mehbooba Mufti – BJP government for the inaction in the Asifa gangrape and horrendous murder episode.

The marchers were silent and speedly marching towards India Gate carrying playcards, where the candle light procession finally converged. Castigating the state government of inaction in the Kathua gangrape and murder case Rahul Gandhi termed it a gruesome act against humanity and charged the BJP of communalising the situation to save the culprits.

Taking to Twitter the Nehru Gandhi scion and the Congress president said: How can anyone protect the culprits of such evil? What happenned to Asifa at Kathua, is a crime against humanity. It cannot go unpunished. What have we become if we allow politics to interfere with such unimaginable brutality perpetrated on an innocent child. Rahul tweeted.

It may be recalled that in the case of Asifa as well as in the UP matter involving an MLA in a rape case, both the BJP state governments have annoyed the opposition leaders as well as the local populace for the inaction. The media is excessively highlighting both the issues leading to the state and central government’s insult as in UP, centre as well in Jammu, Kashmir the BJP is running the political show with partnership in J& K. The matter of Asifa gangrape and murder has assumed national and even global significance inviting the attention of governments, courts and human right bodies.
